I don't quite know why but some people just don't get things. No matter how loudly, or how slowly you say it (or how simply you write it) you just can't get through to them. Or how often you repeat things. But what the heck I'll have one more try anyway.

Last Tuesday, the 1st March 2005, Leicester City Football Club played Burnley FC at Turfmoor. Some of us did our duty and attended and encouraged our team. Others (ie 'loyal' fans who post on this forum) stayed at home. They may provide a whole host of pressing reasons why they did this - finances, job, domestic situation. The chatter on this board though, let the cat out of the bag.

Not only was it too much to ask that these people 'do their bit' to help us beat the drop into footballing oblivion, it was also too much to ask them to follow LCFC fortunes from afar. They preferred to watch a team owned by a Russian mafioso, managed by a psychopath cheat their way past true, European footballing aristocracy.

Alright so far some might say. Can't make every game (or any game it appears for some whilst we remain outside the Prem). OK. I'll show the half-hearted a little understanding. One problem though. They came on a dedicated site for LCFC fans. They came on a dedicated LCFC site to talk about SHITSEA whilst LCFC were playing. They even ignored our own dedicated match thread. But it gets worse, a lot worse.

They posted whoops whenever SHITSEA scored. And when the scumbags won, do you know what one of these dogs said? 'WE ARE SHITSEA!' (speak for yourself arsehole!) Can you believe it? And when I pointed out this treachery I was attacked (as usual) and called an attention seeker!!

Like Tracey Emin and her 'art' such wankers have a very peculiar view of what being a football fan means. Above all else it means loyalty, lifelong loyalty, for better or worse, richer or poorer. This site is meant to be for true fans. It is not for wannabe glory hunters whose allegiances change once they have the remote in their hands.

There are decent, loyal fans on this board whom I have my differences with. And then there are others who wouldn't know what loyalty was if it bit them in the crotch. Many of them were on the disgusting SHITSEA thread.

The very least they can do is to apologise to the true fans on this board and promise us all it won't happen again.

Is that too much to ask?

well put chandler, very touching, but whilst there is a thing in this great country of ours called free speech then your banging your head against a brick wall, fair enough alot of fans, my-self included didnt travel to burnley on tuesday i dont need to give you any reasons or justify my not being there.

yes you returned from your very ardious trip only to get on your "hard man high horse" and point this out using bad language and insults, along with the old threat of a good kicking.

i did say id like to punch your face in because every time i read one of your "fickle bonehead" extravaganza posts they make me cringe, alot of other people would probably agree with me, i think its time you found a board where people like you can get together and arrange a good old fisticuffs then post about your losses or victories and threaten each other till the cows come home.

oh and just one more thing.........it is only a game! :)

It's a fair rant, Chandler. The way you put it, one can only agree with you. Trouble is, when you come on here, you often have a go at anyone/everyone. You're relentless! Most of us have a few rants now and then, but it get's tiresome to read posts from a member who's permanently negative with a very sarcastic, almost bitter sense of humour.

Your point is well valid though, and it is a shame to see Chelsea get that much attention compared to our own Leicester City. Some fans are just less hardcore than others I guess, but don't forget that many on here are not even adults yet. I'd assume, without knowing these people's pocket money or other income, that it's difficult to attend every single game. I'd love to have the possibility to go to games regularly, but I know I wouldn't be able to afford those prices season after season.

Have to say, I agree with Chandler on this one! If only the other thread was a bit more like this....

so what you're saying is that we're not allowed to post anything on this forum unless we go to every game of Leicesters, not talk about any other team, have a season ticket and give other teams a wanky nickname?

...or the rath of Chandler comes down on us?

It's a fair point that if you're a Leicester fan (or a fan of any other team) that you shouldn't show impassioned support for another side. However, it's also fair to say that myself and I guess many others that watched the Chelsea game wanted them to win because they're an English club. Nevertheless, I personally hate Chelsea and wouldn't care if they won or lost in Europe and hope they don't win the league.

A problem though is that a significant number of Leicester supporters are fickle. This is demonstrated by the fact that our attendences have dropped this season due to poor performaces and relegation. There is also the problem of the lack of atmosphere in the Walkers, which again is in part due to the fickle nature of many of our fans.

Unfortunately Leicester City has been dogged by this problem for at least as long as I've been supporting them (25 years+) and is one central reason why we've won relatively little for a club of our size - managers and players change but the fan's culture does not; a culture of underachievement and apathy. To find examples of this you just need to talk to your average Leicester person and ask them about Leicester City and the usual response is a groan and negative reaction about the football club.

But back to the original point, I can see why Chandler is annoyed (although I don't think he expressed his opinions is either a mature or positive manner) because showing a strong support for another club reaks of the fickleness I've just described and it's a fair enough reaction to be frustrated by this.

We all need to be getting behind LCFC at the moment and use our passion for the club and football to help us stay up, win the cup and move on to greater success.

PS sorry for the waffle.
