DB11 Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_3135321,00.html It's the correct decision, but I must admit I am a bit surprised after a few red cards for lesser challenges this season have been upheld.
Simi Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 I think that's the right decsion to be honest, looked a little harsh. I just hope Joey Barton gets exactly what's coming to him, a proper ban. Surely that assault on Maloney breaks his bail terms?!
Uncle Albert Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 I dont see why Bowyer has been cleared for a two-footed tackle. When the likes of Robbie Keane's wasn't overturned and his was very very harsh.
Joe. Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 I must admit it was a harsh red card so I'm not surprised it's been overturned. Lee Carsley's challenge on Stephen Hunt was far worse and he didn't even get booked for it.

I hate the little cock so much.
Tevez Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 I like Stephen Hunt, imo I think he could progress into a top four team and feed off Crouch or work with Adebayor.

Surely that assault on Maloney breaks his bail terms?! I know, i've had enough of Barton acting the hard man - he has serious problems and shouldn't be allowed to walk on to that football pitch, he should be locked away. Just because you do something on a football pitch doesn't make you any different to a person who may do it on a street.
Darkzzz_ Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I like Hunt, he is a little grafter!! Anyway..... I would love to see Barton Vs Bowyer in a street brawl. My money would be on a Barton win, due to Kieron Dyer hitting Bowyer with a steel chair allowing Barton in for the 1...2...3 Pinfall victory....

But with Graham Poll as ref it could be controversial and the decision reversed...
Darkzzz_ Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 But with Graham Poll as ref it could be controversial and the decision reversed... What if he counts to six instead of three...?? I mean come on, if he can get the three yellow cards wrong anything is possible!!!
DB11 Posted 14 February 2008 Author Posted 14 February 2008 What if he counts to six instead of three...?? I mean come on, if he can get the three yellow cards wrong anything is possible!!! I've read his autobiography and it was very good. It explained the 3 yellow cards; I'll feed it back The Croatian number 3 is Australian. Australian accent etc. Graham Poll gave the first yellow properly, asking his name etc. as it was early(ish) in the game and he was fully mental. Later on in the game, he said he was mentally tired and when he came to book him again he just put the 'C' next to the Australian number 3 because of the accent etc. he presumed it was Australia instead of Croatian. He then committed another YC offence and Poll offed him, still not realising he'd made a mistake. He said he only realised his mistake when he went through his post-match notes with his assistants and 4th man. He said he went crazy and blamed them for not notifying him of the mistake, which he now says he apologises for.
