Jack Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 Link Coventry City have confirmed that they will release eight out-of-contract players at the end of the season. Arjan de Zeeuw, Michael Hughes, Colin Hawkins, Stuart Giddings, Ellery Cairo, Wayne Andrews, Lee Hildreth and Liam Davis will leave the Championship club. David McNamee, who is currently recovering from a hamstring injury, could follow at the end of the season. But Marcus Hall, Stephen Hughes, Danny Ireland and Andy Marshall will all be offered new deals at the Ricoh. Of the players to be released by Coventry boss Chris Coleman, three were signed by previous manager Iain Dowie (Cairo, De Zeeuw and Hughes), two by his predecessor Micky Adams (Andrews and Hawkins) and three (Giddings, Hildreth and Davis) came through the ranks.
Durnerz Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 Dont fancy having any of those dullards at my club.
Jack Posted 24 March 2008 Author Posted 24 March 2008 Dont fancy having any of those dullards at my club. Me neither. Too think I wanted us to sign De Zeeuw in the summer, im glad now that we didn't.
Matt Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 I said it last season and i'll say it again, We should take a leaf out of Coventry's book by releasing or saying to the players they are playing for their futures at the club, We got rid of many players earlier this season and we'll do it again, Perhaps this is what the players want and easy way out of the club? But I wouldn't really mind if our 'best' players went (I'm not even sure who our best player is) they can all go, fuk off and hope their careers are over and rot just like they have almost done/are doing to our club, but in reality some poor team will pick them up and have the service's of their laziness.
Joe. Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 None of those would be any good to us I don't think. If they're supposedly not good enough for Coventry in this division I very much doubt they'll be good enough for us either.
