Ash Posted 27 March 2005 Author Posted 27 March 2005 Goalkeeper - WalkerDefender - McCarthy Midfielder - Hughes Striker - Wright. 83786 Wright is unproven
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 March 2005 Posted 27 March 2005 Defender: Maybury, solid and dependable when compared with the likes of Makin and Curtis - previous right backs. I'll hang fire on McCarthy until he plays more than 4 (?) games. Midfielder: Hughes, hasn't played much yet but he's got a far better touch than anyone else other than Williams, who goes missing far too much for my liking. Striker: Have we got any? I've noticed some Irish lad running around a lot and a big bloke with a fat arse wandering around by the opposition penalty box but nothing you'd term a striker.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 March 2005 Posted 27 March 2005 Goalkeeper - WalkerDefender - McCarthy Midfielder - Hughes Striker - Wright. 83786 Wright is unproven 83793 McCarthy's hardly up for his testimonial.

It says a lot about our defence and attack though when a large number of people are naming kids who have played less than 5 games for the club as our best defenders and strikers.
Ash Posted 27 March 2005 Author Posted 27 March 2005 To say Tommy Wright is the best striker we have is stupid. Sorry Oli but it is.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 March 2005 Posted 27 March 2005 Have to agree but without wanting to speak for someone else, it's probably partly a protest vote against the misfiring "centre-forwards" we currently let loose in our first team. I can see the logic, though if Wright was any good he'd be first choice given Connolly and de Vries' goalscoring prowess. Wright has been like a headless chicken every time I've seen him.
Ash Posted 27 March 2005 Author Posted 27 March 2005 I'm pretty sure Wright will be released at the end of the season anyway.
Anish Posted 27 March 2005 Posted 27 March 2005 To say Tommy Wright is the best striker we have is stupid.Sorry Oli but it is. 83811 To put Gareth Williams in a Great Britain all-star XI team is also laughable!
Guest Daniel Posted 27 March 2005 Posted 27 March 2005 To say Tommy Wright is the best striker we have is stupid.Sorry Oli but it is. 83811 He got 3 goals in as many games in the promotion season. Shows abit of passion. I would sooner have him the team than Connolly, MDV or Blake.
Oli Posted 27 March 2005 Posted 27 March 2005 I'm pretty sure Wright will be released at the end of the season anyway. 83823 Comes from the lad who thinks Williams is our next midfield superstar, at least when Wright plays he shows passion and scored. Wright is better than Connely I think, scored half the goals Connolly has in about 25 less games!
Random Burglar Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 Keeper: Walker Defender: Maybury Midfielder: Hughes Forward: Wright
Ricey Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 David Connolly, Stefan Moore and Mark De Vries are better than Tommy Wright at the moment! Simple as that.
