Ash Posted 25 March 2005 Posted 25 March 2005 Who are our best players in there set position in the team? Our best Goalkeeper - Walker Defender - McCarthy Midfield - Williams Striker - Connolly
Sparky Posted 25 March 2005 Posted 25 March 2005 Goalkeeper - Walker Defender - Maybury Midfield - Williams Striker - Connolly
Scarby Posted 25 March 2005 Posted 25 March 2005 GK - Walker (but have no idea if Lars is any good or not) D - Maybury looks good coming forward on both flanks M - Williams - him and Hughes i think are going to be a great partnership S - DC - MDV has been a major dissappointment maybe his first goal will start him of on a run.
Mark Posted 25 March 2005 Posted 25 March 2005 Bit early to judge McCarthy but he's the best of the defence i reckon, Maybury is a good player but i wouldnt say Maybury is the best defender, doesn't the winger almost always pass him? Goalkeeper - Walker Defender - McCarthy Midfield - Hughes Striker - Connolly

Hughes is better than Williams. 83174 The reason i didnt say Hughes is because i havent personally seen enough of him to suggest he is better than Williams. I do however have a feeling he will become another Muzzy Izzet type player lets just hope im right and he remains loyal to the cause
Anish Posted 25 March 2005 Posted 25 March 2005 GK - Walker Defender - McCarthy Midfielder - Hughes Striker - Connolly (although there's no competition for him)
Bedford Fox Posted 25 March 2005 Posted 25 March 2005 GK-Walker Defender- McCarthy Midfeilder- Hughes Striker- Connolly
stez Posted 25 March 2005 Posted 25 March 2005 Goalkeeper - Walker Defender - dabz- only as i've not seen macca Midfield - Williams Striker -
Ric Flair Posted 26 March 2005 Posted 26 March 2005 Goalkeeper - Walker Defender - McCarthy looks quality from what i've seen of him, but Stearman will take the title when he's given a proper chance Midfielder - Williams/Hughes Both quality in there own right. If Williams could be more tenacious, which he's showing signs of then I think we've got 2 players capable of playing in the premiership to a high standard. Striker - Connolly
Durnerz Posted 26 March 2005 Posted 26 March 2005 Goalkeeper - Walker Defender - Mccarthy Midfielder - Hughes Striker - reluctantly...........Connolly
Wellman Posted 26 March 2005 Posted 26 March 2005 Goalkeeper - Walker Defender - McCarthy *Been very impressed with him * Midfeilder - Hughes *Very Very happy with this lad, Williams still hasn't really impressed me much but he definately has improved as the season has gone on* Striker - Connolly spose
Jonbluefox9 Posted 26 March 2005 Posted 26 March 2005 Goalkeeper- Ian Walker, still our best keeper although Hirschfeld and Logan don't offer much in terms of competition. Defender- Paddy McCarthy, he looks comfortable in possession of the ball, something we've lacked at the back for a while. Midfielder- Stephen Hughes, will become the fans' favourite in the near future. Can run with the ball, good passing range and ball control. Striker- David Connolly, not much competition at the minute but I think we've got some good strikers coming through like Chris O'Grady who's improved a lot imo, Dodds, Chambo a bit further down the line and I've heard this Billy Mckay could be a good player in the future. Anyway, Stevenson was a good player at youth level and didn't progress with us so you can never tell. Connolly at the minute.
Bedford Fox Posted 26 March 2005 Posted 26 March 2005 Steveo always had it against him being one of the smallest players i ever seen! But to be honest i liked him but never thought he would make it!

But to be honest i liked him but never thought he would make it! 83483 I've heard he didn't have the right attitude. Being small does go against you but they wouldn't have given him a scholarship if they didn't feel he was good enough. Lots of my mates have been told they had to go for being too small.

Sam Posted 26 March 2005 Posted 26 March 2005 Goalkeeper - Walker Defender - Maybury Midfield - Gillespie Striker - Dodds
Scarby Posted 26 March 2005 Posted 26 March 2005 Goalkeeper - WalkerDefender - Maybury Midfield - Gillespie Striker - Dodds 83534 interesting first post Sam
Sam Posted 26 March 2005 Posted 26 March 2005 Thanks I don't rate Connolly or MDV that much although I think MDV has a lot to offer and I think Gillespie has played almost to his full potential that has never been seen by him. If things had gone his way then maybe he could be one of the best wingers in the premiership sadly problems in his life have held him back.
Mark Posted 26 March 2005 Posted 26 March 2005 Well only one of our strikers has scored more league goals than Louis Dodds Unless we count Dublin as one but he's been a defender mostly so he's a defender in this case to back me up Dodds certainly deserves a chance.
Sam Posted 26 March 2005 Posted 26 March 2005 Never seen Dodds play but I've heard a lot of good things about him and have also heard that he's been banging in the goals for the reserves all season.
Scarby Posted 26 March 2005 Posted 26 March 2005 Never seen Dodds play but I've heard a lot of good things about him and have also heard that he's been banging in the goals for the reserves all season. 83539 but will he be able to bag the goals at first team level?
Sam Posted 26 March 2005 Posted 26 March 2005 I doubt it but our strikers aren't quite goal machines are they so we can't really lose anything.
Steven Posted 26 March 2005 Posted 26 March 2005 Never seen Dodds play but I've heard a lot of good things about him and have also heard that he's been banging in the goals for the reserves all season. 83539 but will he be able to bag the goals at first team level? 83541 If that were the criterium then none of our strikers would stay in the team for long.
