Number 6 Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 I know some people will say it's all rubbish, and we have to get rid of Holloway whatever happens, but I found this posted on a sports psycology website a while back, rings pretty true I think: "So, after three defeats in ten days, Leicester City manager Ian Holloway is reportedly under pressure. Chairman, Milan Mandarich has supposedly been sounding out other managers, such as Billy Davies and Ian Dowie. Ian Holloway has been Leicester City manager for seventeen games. Which admittedly is longer than Martin Allen and Gary Megson. But for him to be under pressure? Milan Mandarich thought long and hard over this managerial appointment. He took himself off to America to buy some time and space. To think clearly about who he wanted to lead Leicester City to the promised land of success. A man who could stand up to him. A strong character. In the mould of Harry Redknapp. That is why he head-hunted Ian Holloway from Plymouth Argyle. Mandarich has put himself under pressure with his declarations about returning Leicester to the Premier League in three years. He feels he has to back these words up. And in doing so he is loading the pressure onto his managers. That is why he sought out a strong manager. But, restoring Leicester City to the top league may take longer than three years. It's a progression that should happen naturally. Injecting this kind of time pressure into the football club, appears to be having the opposite effect. The pressure seems to be inhibiting growth and development. Leading to poor decision-making. It's time for Milan Mandarich to take a step back. Back his manager. And let change take the time it needs to take. Any more of this, and Leicester City will be following other 'big clubs', such as Leeds United and Nottingham Forest into Division One. Clubs with inflated self-views and ambition, out of synch with the reality of their status."
Vo Rogue Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 Milan would probably agree its been a mistake having Ollie in the position we are in. His next mistake however has been keeping him for the Stoke game. He probably has virtually no chance of staying on as manager with the only possibility of keeping the position if we go down. Not the type I'd like leading our team at this stage.

I doubt it, if Milan was of a mind to sack Holloway then he'd go regardless of what division we are in next season.
lookwhaticando Posted 1 May 2008 Posted 1 May 2008 I wonder if the continual misspelling of Milan's surname was intentional.
Number 6 Posted 1 May 2008 Author Posted 1 May 2008 Just been looking up some stats and we're slightly favoured to stay up I think. We have managed to keep a clean sheet in 35.5% of our games this season, 2nd best in the league. Compared this to Stoke's 22.2%. Stoke tend to score first in their games so we could see them go 1-0 up, but we should score there. They have lost to Cov (1-3) & S.Weds (2-4) at home this season and drew (1-1) to Blackpool there, so they are prone to the odd surprise defeat. Stoke have good form at the minute, won their last three, but I think we should at least get a point. Sheff Utd have kept clean sheets in 33.3% of their games this season and scored first in 51.1% of their games, which is pretty good. S'oton on the other hand have only kept 22.2% clean sheets, scoring first 42.2% of their games. Colchester are the only side in The Championship to have conceded more than S'oton. It suggests the best S'oton can hope for is a point. I know all this is probably going to be irrelevant on Sunday, but I am just trying to make myself feel better. I will be watching the game in a pub in Hull, so we should have some backing, COME ON THE FOXES!!! (please )
