Fox in a Box Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 OS. Striker Billy McKay has put pen-to-paper on a new one year contract with Leicester City. The 19-year-old forward has pledged his short-term future to the Foxes after impressing at Academy and Reserve team last season. McKay has worked his way through the ranks at the Walkers Stadium and was rewarded with a place in the first-team squad for their trip to Sheffield United back in April following a late injury to DJ Campbell. The teenager also joined Hinckley United on loan for a month last term and previously helped City's Under-18s lift the FA Premier Academy League title in 2006/07 and was prolific in front of goal. Academy Manager Jon Rudkin said: "Billy is an enthusiastic individual who has worked very hard to get where he is today, but he knows that he still has a lot to prove and a lot to work towards. "However, this is a fantastic opportunity for Billy to progress. He has an eye for goal and hopefully he can make an impact at first-team level this coming season." good lad, well done 20 goals or your out..............
SamL Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Well I haven't seen him play but I've heard he's a really promising prospect. Lets hope we get a manager in who's not afraid to play the youth and gives this lad a chance.
