He's a solid, failry reliable defender but we can't continue with two such poor passers in our defence and hope to win promotion. NUURRRRRRRRRSE! I wouldn't have believed we'd get £650k for McCarthy, but we did! I'm sure if someone posted a clip on YouTube of McAuley's performances against Spain, Sweden and Denmark (plus his goal against Chelsea), it would arouse interest and maybe make him look a better player than he actually is. There are a few clubs in the lower reaches of the Premier League with money to burn who may just be tempted to make a bid. It's unlikely that such a bid would reach £1m, but not impossible. If Holloway/Milan can talk McAuley up to £1million, they deserve a medal each. How many £1million+ defenders do you see in the premiership who can't pass a football or run at a decent pace? Even Titus Bramble at least has a bit of pace, and he's a liability. I can't believe we're discussing this. I mean, really, McAuley? £1million? If anyone offers anything like £500k for any of our defenders I'd be inclined to take the money. Spectacular.Still, if we just sell McAuley for £1million or so, we could bring in some reinforcements. Ultra seems to think there would be plenty of Premiership takers! I see Plymouth have valued Norris at 2 million. Someone will pay that I reckon (not us) So all we need is to come up with 2 McAuley's and we could get him, eh Ultra?
