Collymore Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 A rough estimate of the cost of getting relegated to league1? I know the premiership to the CS is millions and millions, but I can't believe that's is too much between the CS and L1???? I think that obviously attendances play a massive factor, but we've apparently sold as many season tickets as last season! If you look at Leeds last season and we start winning games, there's no reason why we shouldn't start hitting the high twenties regularly. Add to this the reduced wage bill, I reckon with a sneaky cup run and factoring in the fact we'll prob make £6m in the transfer market, i wouldn't rule out Milan making a sneaky profit this season!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 I've read various places £1million. Seems low but where exactly are the losses coming from? Our wage bill should be significantly reduced. We'll have maybe 3 games on Sky instead of about 7 (?) and might get paid less for them. The crowds will be down a fair bit but season ticket sales seem fairly steady. I don't think the financial hit is that bad, relative to relegation from the Premiership it's a molehill in comparison to a mountain.
Lovejoy Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 In the telegraph a few weeks ago it quoted £57mil between PL & Champ, £3mil between Champ & L1, £1mil between L1 & L2. No link I'm afraid, but does sound about right. EDIT: These are on average of course.
act smiley Posted 25 June 2008 Posted 25 June 2008 I remember reading a quote from the Swansea chairman recently saying about one and a half million a season in TV money, plus the impact on income from other sources like sponsors, kit deals etc.
billyfox1 Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 would there be clauses in contracts for sponsorship etc for going down? will we get less free tiles because we are in league 1
