What we need to do is improve to his standard - in other words play an entire team of outfield players who can pass the ball quickly then move. That we have never even nearly had that in recent seasons explains in the simplest terms who we have done so badly and scored so few goals. How easily people forget that in Porter's only full season for us he was credited with two more assists than any other player - seven altogether - and got three goals. How did Mattock, Laczko and anyone else do on our left wing last season. How many assists between them all and how many goals?
