Raj Posted 5 July 2008 Posted 5 July 2008 Just thinking (I do that now and again...especially on night shift!!!) about how things have developed over the last 20 odd years in relation to things such as internet, mobile phones and other such technology(which i know nothing about!) What do you reckon will change drastically in the next 20 odd years (except for City being a European Champions ofcourse!!!) I reckon there wil be no paper/coin money and we'll just have a plastic card with all our information on. ie How much we owe, earnwhat we have in savings,as well as personal info... P.S anyone want to buy my Djing stuff????

P.S anyone want to buy my Djing stuff???? It needs to be resisted. And some people need to appreciate that not everyone gets a monthly bank deposit they never see by way of wages/salary. The country has stacks of casual workers like fruit pickers, it also has lots of market traders like fruit and veg merchants or vendors of very small payment items. It is not so easy or practical to go all electronic, nor desirable. It already takes far longer to get served in a garage with all this sodding plastic about and when electric goes down the garage gets closed and it is absolute chaos. As for the crime potential - it's enormous. As the recent horrific stabbing of those French guys probably indicates. Yes the authorities would love it to happen. They'd love you to be reflected as just another number on a spreadsheet. But it's fraught with all sorts of snags. And you've obviously never had your E-Bay account hacked with all the hassle that brings.
General Smuts Posted 5 July 2008 Posted 5 July 2008 Who's in the General? Is it you Raj, cos you know you only have to ask. Or demand.
