Steven Posted 11 April 2005 Posted 11 April 2005 Academy Go Down To GunnersLeicester City's under 18 side went down 4-1 at Arsenal on Saturday morning. The Foxes went into the game on the back of a six-match winning streak, but came unstuck against the Premiership giants. City took the lead through Chris O'Grady, but found themselves down to 10-men shortly afterwards when Scott Lycett was sent off for deliberate hand-ball. And the Gunners made full use of their extra man and went on to score four goals in reply. Academy Director Jon Rudkin said: "We created some good chances on the day and the scoreline isn't really a fair representation as to how we played. "Arsenal equalised from a dubious penalty and we had a man sent off at the same time which was frustrating. That certainly didn't help our cause. "But we took plenty of positives out of the game. Our side included two schoolboys so they will take great confidence away from it."

shen Posted 11 April 2005 Posted 11 April 2005 Another needless sending off though. 91806[/snapback] Well I hope they get disciplined almost as hard as first-teamers for such silly acts. I bet if Levein witnessed the game he would put Lycett in goal for the next week in training sessions (like the Hearts youngsters he made run with golf clubs on the back the whole training session)
chambo_9 Posted 12 April 2005 Posted 12 April 2005 actually he didnt deserve to get sent off! it was clear the ball hit his chest, the ref didnt give the penalty the linesman did and the ref could see everything clearly. Poor refs for arsenal standards!
