It's not like a children's audiobook infused with jazz rock is it?

If you've ever had the misfortune to hear Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone on 6Music on a Sunday evening, it sounds like the more bizarre end of that (which is saying something). Basically a bit like some of the jazz-funk people they had on Jazz Club on the Fast Show. Just a load of blokes playing random notes for 12 minutes at a time.

Not the most harmonious response I've ever composed but; 1) I'm not paying anything (http://sadsongsfordirtylovers.blogspot.com/) 2) I don't like Tracy Chapman Ah well.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 September 2008 Author Posted 26 September 2008 Fez, you and I should make a band. You could be Bez. Sounds good to me. Do you reckon Bernie is Bez's dad?
The People's Hero Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 Sounds good to me.Do you reckon Bernie is Bez's dad? No. I think Bernie is Bez. Or rather was Bez. I'm making less and less sense with each hour that passes. For anyone who is interested, my ipod has just selected Killers - Read My Mind. I love this track, despite not having much time for the Killers generally.

Just downloaded an album by The Walkmen, bet this would be right up your street.

And maybe this - http://anonym.to/?http%3A%2F%2Frapidshare....A-KA08.rar.html - that sounds like BRMC.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 September 2008 Author Posted 26 September 2008 Tons and tons for you on this site too JTB. I've downloaded some awesome ska/reggae compilations etc this morning, the Metronomy album is out of this world and some German minimal techno too. I'm like a kid in a sweet shop. Such a wide variety.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 September 2008 Author Posted 26 September 2008 Where where where? http://sadsongsfordirtylovers.blogspot.com/ Go wild.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 September 2008 Author Posted 26 September 2008 Actually, BRMC is an unfair comparison for that last one. I'd only listened to a couple of tracks when I put that. That album is fantastic. I wish the bloke recorded under a less pretentious name than "Arms" though. Brilliant album, especially 'Shitty Little Disco'.
The People's Hero Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 The guy from the Walkmen has come as close to anyone I've heard recently if he's trying to imitate Dylan's drawl (at times). Good stuff on first listen. Ta.
