Webbo Posted 8 October 2008 Posted 8 October 2008 I'm thinking about horse racing here but it could be any sport really. What do you look for when picking a horse/team? I have a few rules which I usually follow. I tend to avoid; Maiden stakes. Races under 7 furlongs. Races with more than 13 runners. Backing a horse EW unless it's 8/1+ Horses that haven't run in the last 5 weeks. Things I look for; Previous form(obviously) Horse that have been placed in the last 3 days. C&D winners on all weather tracks. The form data found in the paper.
Lovejoy Posted 8 October 2008 Posted 8 October 2008 I've only bet on horses once, went for 4 with amusing names and won £50 !
Teeno Posted 8 October 2008 Posted 8 October 2008 I tend not to look too much into form etc, I normally just go for the 3rd/4th favourite and hope for the best. However if im taking it seriously, pretty much what you said. However the 5 week thing isn't something I particularly worry about
DB11 Posted 8 October 2008 Posted 8 October 2008 I've never bet. Partly cos i'm not old enough but still
