The jitty end, or the post office end? If the latter, my mate used to live in that corner!

I did locate the exact house on a map but when I tried the link it just reverted to the general map. Anyway, lots of trees. The road bent round to the left to run parallel wth Stonehill Avenue as we were right in the right hand corner. From memory it belonged one of the Mercury accountants, a Mr Chambers I believe, but it was 40 years ago. Small world by the sounds of it.

If you use Google Maps to find it then you have to click "Link" in the top right of the map and it gives you a direct link to what you've found (rather than reverting to the general map, which it does if you just copy the link at the top)

the 70's ended with the british public voting for margaret thatcher .

i think that says enough about what had happened previously and how the world had gone mad

Talking about Mrs Thatcher what's the situation with Mark these days? Strikes me as he's got a lot to answer for and if it was you or me we'd doubtless be having to answer for it.

That's the corner my mate lived in. Massive tree outside her house. It always seemed to surprise me that it was there, as most of Birstall is so tree-free! If that makes sense.

I wonder if my Madeiran rocking chair survived. Spent it's life keeping warm in the conservatory. Best bit of furniture I ever owned. :D
