davieG Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 Williams hopes to calm nerves Leicester midfielder Gareth Williams believes victory at home to Cardiff would calm any jangling nerves at The Walkers Stadium. Leicester are ninth from bottom and only three points clear of the Championship relegation zone. And with Sunderland, Derby, Leeds and Plymouth also to play, Williams knows the Foxes need make the most of their opportunities against the struggling Bluebirds. "It's a big one for us," he said. "But we fully expect to win it. "No disrespect to Cardiff, but looking at our run-in, it's a game from which we fully expect to get three points." If you're picked Gareth you'll have to work a bloody site harder than you did against Wigan, and if you thought that was a big physical battle well.........................
Sam Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 Williams didn' have a good game but he was probably one of the better performers on the pitch that game has got to be the worst team performance and probably the most worst individual performances I've seen in a long time. And one of those players which didn't play well has to be Williams but he needs a second chance and I'm confident he'll perform.
C-man Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 I missed the game on saturday, was it a worse performance than Brighton and Watford at home in the early part of the season? Because they rank as the worst Leicester games ive ever seen

I've got to agree that there were a lot of poor individual performances on Saturday but, Williams was one of the main reasons that we didn't contest the match against Wigan. His total lack of commitment for the first 75 minutes of the match along with an inept display from Tiatto and a joke of a performance from Joey, led to our midfield being totally outclassed and ultimately bypassed by our own back line. Williams should have a good long hard look at his display on Saturday and decide if that is a level that he is happy to perform at or if he is going to actually earn the wages he is paid by the club and ultimately by you and I , the supporters. The guy is a talented footballer but he needs to show up. I can forgive him for a bad game but not if he decides he can't be arsed to try. After Wigan I expect to see Gareth run his do-da's off tomorrow night - if he doesn't, I for one will be very worried.
Anish Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 I think it's about time Williams was dropped again. I know we have a lack of decent midfielders but I cannot stand the way Williams has been playing recently. Hiding behind opponents and not trying to help his fellow midfielders is unforgivable. He has a lot of talent but he's letting the game just flow past him, without a care in the world. Pull your socks up Gareth! <_<
