thommo2 Posted 20 April 2005 Posted 20 April 2005 Just seen the news and CL rates last night performance as excellent even after we went down to ten men. If he classes that as excellent we have a serious problem
breadandcheese Posted 20 April 2005 Posted 20 April 2005 I can understand Levein's point. Last night, we should have won 3-0. We had the chances to kill off the game and should have done. Connolly should have scored twice. Hughes should have scored twice. Kenton should have shot rather than crossed it (which any half decent fullback would have scored - I do not rate Kenton). Don't forget Dublin hit the bar. Add to that the fact that Cardiff didn't trouble us bar that shot in the first half (when they hit the bar) and the freekick, which they scored. Other than that, Cardiff offered nothing. I still cannot tell what that freekick was given for. It seemed to me that our malco players ran into each other knocking themselves to the floor. Even when we went down to ten men, we were still better than Cardiff. So I hear what Levein is saying. Last night, we were the better team. They say grinding out a result when playing badly is the mark of a good team. Sadly, we are the opposit. Playing half-decent stuff and not picking up a result.
foxesfan69 Posted 20 April 2005 Posted 20 April 2005 Well said breadandcheese, i have to agree with everything you said there. Good post
Stuliasz Posted 20 April 2005 Posted 20 April 2005 Good post there but whilst we were the better side, it does not necessarily mean it was an "excellent performance".
thommo2 Posted 20 April 2005 Author Posted 20 April 2005 I wish I could agree I can see your points though. We were far from excellent though we were bad, very bad they were worse, any other half decent championship side would of destroyed Cardiff last night with that performance
Scow Posted 20 April 2005 Posted 20 April 2005 I thought our first half performance was good, but we drifted away in the second. Fortunately for us, Cardiff looked a poor outfit to me and didn't provide us with any problems from open play. B&C is right in saying we were still the better side when we went down to 10 men, however, I think the term 'excellent' is taking it a bit too far...
Durnerz Posted 20 April 2005 Posted 20 April 2005 Could be the OS sticking words into CL's mouth.......
