You head off to where ever you have your Xmas Dinner, have a bit of banter pre Turkey. Then BAM Xmas dinner over, out like a light. Every sodding year, I have my Xmas dinner and NEED a snooze, I don't get it after my Sunday dinner. Is Turkey really stuffed with sedatives or is my In-laws trying to do me in (Unsuccessfully)

You see if people didn't make contributions then there wouldn't be a Forum at all. I haven't made any threads that are distasteful, offensive, more really about what I am thinking. Think about it, think about your recent thread.....crying over a girl in Melbourne on a Leicester forum... You don't like it block me, don't post in them, but don't whine because you have nothing to contribute.
purpleronnie Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Most people believe that Turkey is like a small sedative because it contains tryptophan (or something like that) that calms the body and can induce sleep. But I think I'm right in saying that this has been been proven false and most people now believe its due to the high amounts of carbohydrates in a christmas dinner that makes people sleepy.
