Dr The Singh Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 I blame god, if god made us all the same, there would be no racism!!!
Alexikokopops Posted 22 April 2009 Author Posted 22 April 2009 Well unless they are planning to stop virtually every other match in Europe then I can't see it happening. There was one small element of it when I watched Mancity Hamburg last week. It won't happen. Hamburg have always had a small element of racist fans haven't they? I thought it was a big factor in fueling the rivalry between them and St Pauli. I've always had a bit of a dislike of them because of it.

Yeah, HSV's fans are renowned for their right wing politics, hence the alliance they have with Rangers.
Floating Fox Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 And SUAS, it was homophobic abuse aimed at Sol wasn't it? I got my wired crossed Yeah, correcto...and thats fine... HSV are a right leaning club....Not a nazi club like Lazio or Hansa Rostock though. The St.Pauli thing is because they play in the same city more than politics and Rangers link is just because they are jealous of the Rebels choice (St.Pauli Celtic) To be fair when you have the worlds most left wing club in your city, the other club is also going to have a right-leaning element really.
Ultra Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 To be fair when you have the worlds most left wing club in your city, the other club is also going to have a right-leaning element really. Perhaps you can tell us who gave them that award, and why?
BoneDog Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 I say forget about getting police or stewards to deal with racist chanting. We should leave it to fans to sort out. We could just have lynchings in the stands. The chants would soon die out if racists started gettin mangled up in the stands. Bish Bash Bosh
Ultra Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 Sadly, though, there are still English clubs (especially in League 1), where it wouldn't be the racists who ended up being lynched..
Floating Fox Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 Perhaps you can tell us who gave them that award, and why? I have no idea what you are on about. St.Pauli are the Most left wing club around. Its not really up for debate.

The Rangers link with HSV was before the Celtic link with St Pauli though wasn't it Plus St Pauli only became the left-leaning "kult" club it is today in the mid-80s, Hamburg had the racist element long before that I thought, that like to sing delightful things about building subways from St Pauli to Auschwitz.

Yeah, that was my understanding of it too. The Hamburg/Rangers thing was set up by British ex-pats in Germany during the 70s I think.

OK maybe I worded that wrong... There was a link before the Rebels choice as AFIE said it was ex-pats...But it became bigger and stronger because of Celtic - St.Pauli... And yes I have heard about those songs too, but I always thought that the right wing element came from St.Pauli becoming "Kult"...

You have to seriously question any fans who will sing songs about Auschwitz just because their rival team is left-wing!
Dr The Singh Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 Having been to Hamburg twice, once to the footy, I can see where it gets it's reputation!! Especially when out on the lash............ Dr The Singh Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 What decade was this? Lots of multi nationals in Hamburg when I went last year. I guess with your reputation you were on the ol' Reeperbahn as well singhy!! I've been twice to Hamburg the last time I went was 2 years ago!! I've been to Frankfurt about 4 times and i've also been to Dusseldorf.....never had any problems in those to cities, but Hamburg has a big issue with Turkish people, and are horridly racist against them. Our friends in Frankfurt told us it would be like this, and told us to take our passports with us to prove we were Brits and not local 'brownies', and still in some places we couldn't get in, our white and black mates were fine, but brown isn't a colour they like to see in some clubs and bars!! We had some terrifc nights on the reepebahn, I love german women who can't speak english.........
