Id rather have Beckford than Cox OR Fryatt to be honest. NP would keep his attitude in check but I dont think hed come to us anyway. Can see him going to one of the 3 relegated clubs.

The point I was making is that our defence is Championship standard right now, and Beckford didn't have a clue how to get past it. His goalscoring record in League One shows he deserves to be feared in that division, but it doesn't mean he'll be able to replicate his achievements in the Championship. I can't imagine any of us expecting Fryatt to score 30 odd goals next season. A good League One striker for definite, but no-one knows if he'll be good enough for the Championship and at the money Leeds will want, he is too big a risk. Admittedly Tunchev is one hell of a centre-back and will probably be among the best in the Championship next season, but the ease with which he contained Beckford should be a worry for any Championship club who signs him.

And the point I was making is that your were still basing it on one game. Carl Cort scored against Chelsea in the League Cup, do you think he's going to be terrorising Premiership defences any time soon? Beckford could have just been having an off day. The fact is he scored 27 goals in 34 games in League One (36 if you include the play-offs). It really pisses me off when people form an opinion off one game. I'm not saying he's going to storm the Championship, but he's certainly not going to be shit just because Tunchev marked him out one match.

That ^ by a long way

I don't like to do that, I have seen people simply base their opinions on how good/bad the player is on FM, on a youtube video and on bitter fans opinion.

There is always going to be a split on whether so and so will be a good signing really, it's inevitable, especially when a player costs so much money, and will be an integral part of the team.

How do I feel about him signing? I honestly haven't formed an opinion either yes or no. If he comes, brilliant, let's see him in the first team, coached and calmed under the disciplined leadership of our manager.

If not, then hey-ho, plenty more fish in the sea.

We don't need to be splashing the cash about just yet. there's plenty of time left, and if we are going to spend big bucks on a striker, let's get it right, rather than waste our precious money on someone we don't want in 6 months (and boy have we had a track record of those)

He shits on Fryatt or Cox. Got a Leeds mate saying the club might accept as little as 2 million. Would be a fooking cracking buy at that price.

At that price, worth a punt. Wouldn't risk much more than that though.

One idea though, how about a part-ex, DJ plus £1 million for Beckford? Gets rid of a player who doesn't want to play here, Campbell gets to play for a club who will surely be pushing for a Championship return rather than play at a Blackpool side who are likely to struggle next term and we get Beckford for relatively little outlay. Under those circumstances, I'd say go for it.

Anyone remember that guy? Whats his name? Oh yeah, Bobby Zamora. He scored shite loads in the lower league.

Brighton 119 games and 70 goals.

Then he went to Spurs.

16 games zero goals.

Then he went to West Ham.

130 games 30 goals.

Now at Fulham.

35 games 2 goals.

During his career he played U21 England for 6 games scoring a whopping zero goals.

Is it a case of too much too soon for players from lower leagues then being bought out by a big club?

Zamora was a big fish in a little pond with Brighton. In the Premiership he has turned into a small fish in a fooking Ocean!

Beckford would be the same. Too much too soon.

Championship is a better bet for him. Right sized fish. Right sized pool to swim in.

All a bit fishy if you ask me!

What a fooking shit argument. He aint Bobby Zomora is he. We could sit here all day listing lower league players that didn't perform in the prem or make an equally long list of players that did. Half of O'Neil's team was plucked from division 3.

I was merely stating that he'd be more suited to Championship football. I thought that'd be clear to someone of your magnificence and intellect. It'd be easy to sit here and list all the stoopid comments made... etc, etc. Blah, blah. hope i didn't hurt your feelings chummmmmmm-p.
