i think they will be holding out for 3.5mill even with a year left they will want top dollar, his goals to games ratio was 0.85 better than anyone this season all be it league1. a promoted team will take a gamble with him for the prem.

Beckford might be a bellend but we don't have enough of them at our club. We're far too nice, which is respectable I suppose but we need some fire in the belly. Beckford would be an awesome signing.

People can have passion without being bellends  I do agree though, he would be a good signing for us but we would be paying over the odds, he wouldn't desperately want to play for Leicester so Nigel wouldn't consider him. We badly need another striker or two though!

I never said our players don't have passion, far from it, we're just a bit nicey nice, we're not going to russle any feathers are we?

Bad attitude, arrogant without a great deal to back it up on the evidence of what Tunchev did to him on Boxing Day. Looked completely toothless against us at Elland Road and that calls into question his ability against Championship standard defences. I may be wrong of course, and I'd change my tune if he was going for about £2 million or less but Leeds will want £3 million plus and at that money he is too much of a risk.

In retrospect, not the wisest purchases for some of the Leeds boys. :crylaugh:

So based on the evidence of one game where he was marked by the best centre back of the league champions who also happens to be a Bulgarian International he's not that good? He may be a complete willy puller but did score the same number of league goals as Fryatt for a team that finished in the playoffs.

Honestly don't think he is that good, never seen him have a brilliant game to be honest and I've seen Leeds a few times.

The point I was making is that our defence is Championship standard right now, and Beckford didn't have a clue how to get past it. His goalscoring record in League One shows he deserves to be feared in that division, but it doesn't mean he'll be able to replicate his achievements in the Championship. I can't imagine any of us expecting Fryatt to score 30 odd goals next season. A good League One striker for definite, but no-one knows if he'll be good enough for the Championship and at the money Leeds will want, he is too big a risk. Admittedly Tunchev is one hell of a centre-back and will probably be among the best in the Championship next season, but the ease with which he contained Beckford should be a worry for any Championship club who signs him.

i would rather have cox as well ( also not in a gay way ) but beckford knows how to score even if he does feck all else in the game but he will go to someone with more money than us even one of the new premiership teams ie: wolves will probably get him

You're not over-rated if you score that many goals, whilst still being out injured for about a considerable amount of time.

Depends who you score them against.

Beckford didn't look too hot against many of the top teams in League 1.

No it doesnt.

Goals are goals.

Not particularly arsed about him really.
