Free Falling Foxes Posted 25 June 2009 Posted 25 June 2009 Many, many moons ago (1960s to be precise) my mam won £500 on the Mercs spot-the-ball competition. They came around to interview her. My dad, a builder, had been laid-off for a couple of weeks because of the weather and my mam said that the win had come at a good time. When the mercury published it they made out we were destitute and the win had saved our lives!! It really was embarrasing at the time.
