Fox92 Posted 19 September 2009 Posted 19 September 2009 Thought i'd bump this thread to update you lot on how im doing on this.I got an interview to become the shop manager of our Meadowhall branch (In Sheffield in case you didn't know ) on Wednesday! Wish me luck Good luck, what shop do you work in (as above)? I am often in Meadowhall, well about once every 2/3 months, as I live near Sheffield, although I hate Meadowhall
AmericanScott Posted 19 September 2009 Author Posted 19 September 2009 I work for Red5 in Highcross Shopping Centre. It's a gadget shop. Pop in sometime and say hello (and buy things ) Cheers for the support. Free parking! And the food court is really cool.

Well, obviousley, I only visit Leicester to go to the home games so I cannot comment on Highcross but if you say it's better then it's better. I know that Red5 shop, I think it's on the bottom floor in Meadowhall and yes, when we all go to Meadowhall, I only go for the food court and the shop Modelzone.

Yeah it's on the bottom floor next to top shop. Smaller compared to our's but they do well. I've been flat hunting in Sheffield via the internet and i must say, it's so cheap up there.
DB11 Posted 19 September 2009 Posted 19 September 2009 I've been in Red5 - only Highcross and Meadow Hall though I bought a safe and didn't like it But I do like popping in now and again to look at everything I swear though, all that the staff ever actually do is fly helicopters

There has to be a helicopter in the air at all times (except when they're charging). We just demo everything so people get a better idea of the products and buy them

I'll be completely honest with you, i don't know why people buy things like that either. People like buying weird things i guess so i can't complain. They usually buy them for birthdays and stuff. Some of our things are useful and fun though. You're spot on about Christmas time. It's busy everyday and the shop is always packed. I prefer it like that instead of a Tuesday night when the Highcross is dead. The time after Christmas (end of January until March) is very slow and we get low sales. But since around April/May time, we've been constantly hitting our targets and beating last year's sales figures. And that's in a recession! Thanks for the support though mate I really hope i get this job.
