MPH Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Just saw it mentioned in a thread... was wondering if you every bought anything from there and: 1. What was it? 2. How much did you pay for it? 3. do you still use it/ is it still working? i'll mention my purchase.. Was channel hopping one evening laying in bed as you do and it fell upon Bidup. they had some air beds on there. I was well impressed! so cheap! so slipped in an offer and i ended up paying 14 pounds for a double and single air bed. with P&P of course it came ot about 20 quid. Well i was round my mates house the next day and told him i bought these air beds well cheap... was describing them to him- he just sat there and eventually asked me " but when will you ever use them?" I sat there in stunned silence ." dont know" i replied. He spent the next two hours ripping into me about these air beds. anyway later that week i was speaking to a friend and he said he was looking for someone to help him out for somthing... to cut a long story short he needed someone to do him a favor - stay overnight in a marquee full of stuff to sell ready for a village fate the saturday morning... i told him i didnt mind helping him out... " he stood there for a minute.. scratched his head and said " dont suppose you have an air bed do you? "YES i DO!!!" was my way too enthusiastic reply...
Zingari Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 :D great story . it's amazing how often things like that happen . but usually i've just chucked stuff away that's been gathering dust and then someone asks if i've got one . the only thing I've bought is one of those "titan" vegetable preparing things, and it's done a brilliant job of taking the skin off my fingers oh , and some of that waterless car cleaner solution that is nowhere near as good as it looks on tv . but it's not put me off impulse buying i still live in hope edit , i assume you mean qvc and all the other shopping chanels
Bluefoxtim Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Yeah always worth nothing that postage is always something ridiculous like £7.99 plus the £3 phone charge! Vacuum cleaner demo's are always on laminated floors as well
billyfox1 Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 1. What was it? Cutlery set 2. How much did you pay for it? less than a tenner (I think) 3. do you still use it/ is it still working? Yes
Uncle Ben Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 Heven't used one of these myself. Apparently once they have your bank details all sorts of unsolicited deeds can happen; a mate of mine has an aunt who had bikes and wheelbarrows from there charged to her account after she'd signed up. Stories like that kind of put the frighteners on any plans to buy a diamonte wrist watch whilst drunk and bored.
