Dan Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Andy King is a good young player, but he has nowhere near as much effect on a game as Izzet did, he is only 20, has had a full season as our most capped player in a league winning team last year, and scored a respectable number of goals in that time too. Has a good shot on him and scores a fair few headers as well. But, I just think he isn't involved enough, when he is involved he can be brilliant, but he doesn't often enough come in to play, ie. he will rarely change a game bar his goals (sounds stupid, but is true).
Tommeh Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Kingys a fooking animal on the backjack table and a centre midfield KINGGGG too. Love the guy. Our best player last seasssonf fo r me.
Fox92 Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 I have been pleased with King this past season, even happy with the glimpse that we saw of him during Holloways time at the club when he scored that goal against Southampton - we could all see he was going to be a good player then. King is a good passer of the ball, he has a good first touch and at League 1 level, we have all seen he is a competent goalscoring midfielder. The thing that worries me, unless he has improved this attribute, is his strength and physical side of the game. Now, maybe there's nothing to worry about because Wellens could entertain the physical and tackling part of the game but I just think that King may not be strong enough to compete with the midfield's in The Championship this season. However, still think he could chip in with a fair amount of goals again! Be interesting to see whether King starts tomorow, actually of course he is going to start considering he played an essential part in the promotion last season and I think he played more than any other player, but what is going to happen? King and Wellens or Oakley and Wellens. Becuase surely, he is going to start Wellens as he is a creative player and a new signing, and he is going to play Oakley as he is the captain but where do they all fit in or is Oakley going to start on the right? In which, I hope not! Anyway, we'll see tomorow. But to be as good as or better than Muzzy Izzet is hard to tell. We'll have to see how things go this season with King and see whether he will regain the great season he had last year but compared to Muzzy? No way, well, not at this time anyway but then again, you cannot really say. I mean, Izzet had the touch, the pass, the finish, and the phyisical side of the game as well and that is what we need to see from King this season!

Well he will see a more physical approach this Season thats for sure, and more pace, movement. good lad but still a hell of a long way to go, needs to be more involved than last season when he drifted in and out of games. The potential's there, but comparing the lad to Muzzy is not fair on the lad
