Ash Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Ive been really impressed with this lad since he's been putting the shirt on..... Could King be as good or BETTER than the legend that is Muzzy Izzet??
coale39 Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Ive been really impressed with this lad since he's been putting the shirt on.....Could King be as good or BETTER than the legend that is Muzzy Izzet?? 10 times better at least.
Matt Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Gotta go a long way to be better than Muzzy for me. Muzzy has a special place in my heart and is my favourite and best player I have seen play for Leicester. King is good though.
flanimal Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Completely different players, surely. King is more of a sideways player than Izzet, I reckon. But give the lad a few years, Izzet didn't really show his genius until he was in his mid 20s with us - and by the time King is in his mid 20s, West Brom will have bought him off us, so it's irrelevant!
Budweiser Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Gotta go a long way to be better than Muzzy for me. Muzzy has a special place in my heart and is my favourite and best player I have seen play for Leicester.King is good though. Agreed. Izzet was very loyal to this club as well. Preferred Elliott and Guppy though. Walsh
flanimal Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Agreed. Izzet was very loyal to this club as well. Birmingham City?
Stevosevic Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Birmingham City? He had 9 years with us, left when his contract was up and we had been relegated, we couldnt afford his wages and he deserved a last chance in the premiership.
flanimal Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Yeah, I know I know. He deserved to leave when he did. Too much to expect him to stay on another season. Plus, even though he went to Birmingham, he said he wanted to return to Leicester when his time there was done and end his career here - and I think he was telling the truth, but then he got injured and retired when he was 31 or something, right? Potentially he had a good 3 or 4 years still in him. Legend.
Milky Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 King hasn't even done it in the championship yet, let alone the prem! Huge way to go before he gets anywhere near Izzet.
Hitesh Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 A lot of potential and only time will tell if he can reach it!
Granno Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Christ, thought this was going to be confirmation of a transfer or something
Guest Bilo Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Unlike Mattock, King emerged from last season with great credit after a strong showing and has broken into the Wales team. His progression and attitude have been excellent since he emerged from the youth team and he has a big future. I don't think he's the kind of cocky shit who will be demanding a transfer as soon as he has played 10 friendlies at international level either.

There is no prize for the person who has the most posts per day!! On subject, Izzet is a legend and King has a long way to match him, but there is no doubt he has bags of talent. However in my opinion, Izzet was on a level above.
4foxake Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Muzzy Izzet, how do you begin to describe what he did for this club? He was incredible, loyal, skillful, proper team player, and he had 4 Z's in his name, how cool is that. Andy King is good, no doubt, but so far, not a patch on the Muzz-man!

However in my opinion, Izzet was on a level above. Used to be me on a massive 38 per day. Fact! There is no doubt that Full International Andy King is nowhere near as good as Muzzy was on the pitch, but I bet he would dominate Muzzy on the Blackjack table.
Corky Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Long way to go before comparisons with Muzzy can be mentioned, Izzet was a top performer in the Premier League for five seasons, a massive player in helping the side win promotion in 2003 and then still managed plenty of assists in a relegation team the next year. Kingy had a good term last year and I do think he'll improve further.
Craig Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 I don't think he's the kind of cocky shit who will be demanding a transfer as soon as he has played 10 friendlies at international level either. Didn't his agent come out and say King loves it here, and doesn't want to leave for Villa when he was linked a couple of weeks ago? Achieved nowhere near what Muzzy did, but he's certainly had a decent start to his Leicester career. Long may it continue.
C-man Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 In complete contrast to Mattock, I'd be absolutely gutted if King was poached.
bluebeau Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Young Andy is not just a King, he's an Ace. We have to hold onto him 'cos he will be as good as Muzzy with a bit more experience. Muzzy is a legend & one of the best players we ever had at City, but it took time for his true talent to come through. One thing he does that Muzzy didn't do too often, he scores goals. A goal scoring midfielder, priceless. I just hope he doesn't get corrupted & have his ego blown up by players he will be mixing with when he plays for Wales. Mattock can piss off as far as I am concerned. Last week, " I will bring back the skills I have shown playing for England, to the games I play for Leicester". This week, " I want a transfer". Conceited twatt!
kam6 Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Muzzy is my fav player of all time here at Leicester and you can see a few of his attributes in young Andy King. I hope that this guy can keep his head screwed on and become a legend at Leicester. Look at the likes of Stearman, had great things coming to him, but decided to go out and get pissed all the time! I saw him in Marz quite often!!! Same with Stefan "one more drink" Oakes. Great left foot, great potential, where the fook is he now!!!!!!???? Mattock, well, what can you say, stopped scrubbing boots too early! never the mind, you loose a few wankers along the way, just gotta get passed that and move on! King seems like a humble kinda guy!
ob1kanobe0 Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Ive been really impressed with this lad since he's been putting the shirt on.....Could King be as good or BETTER than the legend that is Muzzy Izzet?? Hopefully, really hard to say. He certainly has the potential, he has a good to very good to potential brilliant manager guiding him, is Wales U21? young so yes, but whozit played in a world cup seminal final. If you look at the goals they've both scored, King certainly has good eyesight, whereas whozit was more clever in front of goal.
carterfox90 Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 king has away to go yet to achieve izzet status but the signs are good
Nick Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Not ready to sing the lads praises just yet...... He was rubbish on saturday.
