lweston Posted 12 May 2005 Posted 12 May 2005 I think that bent is a much better player than connolly just see what he has done this season at everton, he has been at the heart of there drive towards a champions league spot and when he is not in the side everton do not look as half as good.

He's so close to being a truely brilliant player and that's why he played for the likes of us and not one of the big clubs. It pains me to think where we would have finished this season with Bent and Dickov up front, top 3 easily even with the other shockers in our team. Those two knew how to take their chances and it would be like curry to a pisshead in this league for them. Shame really, but still I reckon Connolly will get us 20 goals next season. We need Lee Miller to play alongside him.

Connolly for me. 107250[/snapback] He scored 10 goals last season - And has 7 this season, which is not impressive on the face of it. However, bear in mind that he's been asked to play as a lone striker for the majority of this season. He's also been employed on the right wing on a number of occasions too.

Connolly for me. 107250[/snapback] He's been playing against better defences and on the right wing recently, i'm pretty certain he'd have ripped this league apart.
Nationwider Posted 12 May 2005 Posted 12 May 2005 Bent for me, having the upper hand with pace and aerial ability. Having said that, Bent and Connolly up front together would have been nice.
