Suffolk_fox Posted 15 January 2010 Posted 15 January 2010 On March 7th, I am running in the Newham London 10k Run - I am very excited as it is the first race in the new Olympic Park, and I am also excited as I want to raise money for a very worthy cause, Help for Heroes. It's about our men and women of the Armed Forces. It's about Derek, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, it's about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. It's about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife. These people need our help. I'm not asking for loads of money, just what you can afford. Be it 50p or £50, any donation will be most welcome! I have just started my JustGiving Sponsorship page, but please don't let that put you off - I'd love a FT'er to be the first donor to such a worthy cause!! BLUE ARMY!!
Daggers Posted 15 January 2010 Posted 15 January 2010 ...it’s about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. Gets you pissed quicker. And you haven't done a link to the sponsor page

Suffolk_fox Posted 1 May 2010 Author Posted 1 May 2010 I'm back! Sorry I've been offline for ages - moved house, had no broadband etc! Thank you to everyone who helped me raise money for Help For Heroes - I raised £118 online and another hundred or in donations and sponsorship offline, so just over 220 Quid! A worthy cause, a great experience and I think I will do it again next year! Thank you again! SF
