Feel free to disagree with me, and say what you think. Discuss n shit. Chris Weale - Grade A Has done extremely well since his arrival. Good shot stopper, a bit iffy at times with crosses, but he's handled most things thrown at him pretty well. Distribution is quick and good as well. One of Nige's best purchases to date. Robbie Neilson - Grade D Not looked great at all. Comical at times. Hearts fans warned us - and they've been proved right thus far. Offers nothing going forward, and his a huge liability at the back. No idea why he has been given such a long contract. Without a doubt Nige's worst signing since he took over. Michael Morrison - Grade B This lad is improving. He's slowly establishing himself as first choice centre half. And he should be. Pretty versatile too, though doesn't offer a lot going forward when playing full back. But he's reliable as ever. He's made the transition from non-league to the Championship look piss easy. Jack Hobbs - Grade B He's solid as fuck. Doesn't let much get past him. I still think there's more to come from him. And at 21, he'll only improve. I'd like to see him be more of a threat at set pieces, sort of in the Kisnorbo mould. Wayne Brown - Grade C Unsure about this bloke. Decent one week, gash the next week. He should be third in the pecking order behind Morrison and Hobbs. Tries hard, but seems to have been born without any football talent. Ryan McGivern - Grade D Looked useless when he first arrived, and produced some right horror displays. Still suspect at the back. He needs to bulk up his ideas, and step up his game if he wants to make it at this level. I'm sure he'll come good one day though. Bruner Berner - Grade B Solid when he has played. Does exactly as it says on the tin. We've clearly missed him in the last month or so. Andy King - Grade B Weighed in with a few goals and seems to have decent potential to go on to become a 10+ a season goal scoring midfielder. He started slowly, but has quickly come to terms with the league and it's pace. Richie Wellens - Grade C I like him. Kind of feel like there's more to come from him. Doesn't seem to get involved enough. But he has shown that on his day, he can be quite a dominant player who dictates the midfield. Also needs to chip in with a few goals sometime soon. Matt Oakley - Grade C Played at RM, which clearly isn't his position and often has a habit of drifting inside leaving aces of space on the right. At 32 his legs are nearly gone, and despite all the hammering he has received I still think he deserves some credit for being part of a solid midfield that has gotten us so far thus far. Lloyd Dyer - Grade C Too inconsistent. I like him, though. He's obviously got pace and quite a bit of skill and is a nippy little bastard. Could do to impose himself a bit more. Can't fault his effort and attitude. Dany N'Guessan - Grade C Done OK. Like Dyer, he's too inconsistent as well. Contributed his fair share though with goals and assists. It's a big ask jumping from League 2 to the Championship, but he has been a decent signing. And he'll win us a fair few more points, as he's done already. Nicky Adams - Grade D I've only seen him play once this season, and he did OK then. Obviously not rated by Nigel, and has subsequently been sent on holiday to Leyton. Paul Gallagher - Grade D Weird one. Feel very sorry for him tbh. He has been played at right wing, left wing, behind the striker. The lad clearly got ability but it is very difficult to accommodate him, and due to his versatility he has been played out of position and has subsequently put in poor performances, and people have [unfairly IMO] judged him on that. Can do stuff with the ball most players can't. Yann Kermorgant - Grade D Looks a decent player when he comes on as a sub, but whenever I've seen him start he has been absolutely anonymous. I really don't know what to make of him in all honesty. Martyn Waghorn - Grade B Has adapted very well, Weighed in with about 5 goals. Very good pace, good technique, gets in good positions and developing a nice understanding with a lot of his team mates. Only 19 still. Been very impressed with him. Glad he's here till the end of the season. Matty Fryatt - Grade A Our most improved player in the last 18 months. He's quicker, stronger and has developed a better footballing brain. Many people doubted him, and he has proved everyone wrong. Will go on to get us 16-18 goals this season, which is a good return. Steve Howard - Grade D Love the bloke, but he's clearly finished. Produces the odd decent game, but overall he's past his expiry date. Mind you, he'd do well as an impact sub.

Maybe I'd of given Waghorn an A but B is probably fair. Quite impressed that we've only used 19 players in the league this season. (inc O'neill against Ipswich and not inc gradel's cup appearance). Surely we've got to be up there as one of the teams with least amount of players used .

Guest ttfn Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 Weale B - Beaten by too many long range efforts, other than that, good stuff. Neilson D- - Solid defensively but woeful on the ball. Morrison B+ - Thought he'd be shipped out on loan this season but has been our most accomplished CB. Hobbs B- - Room for improvement Brown C - As bad as Neilson on the ball, competent in the tackle and in the air. McGivern E - fooking useless. Berner B+ - One of the better left backs in the division. Oakley D - Awful most of the time. Can't pass, can't tackle, can't shoot. Wellens B- - Great start, shit since October. King B- - Opposite of Wellens. Dyer B- - Difficult to rate as one day he's awesome, the rest he's shit. N'Guessan C - Better than I'd epected but really inconsistent. Gallagher C- - Flatted to deceive. Except Palace at home when he was brilliant. Kermorgant C - Inconsistent Howard C - See Kermorgant. Fryatt A- - Player of the year so far. 12 goals in a defensive-minded team and a good work ethic. Can't ask for much more. Waghorn B - Works hard, a few goals, doesn't work with Fryatt
Guest Bilo Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 Weale B - Reliable and solid with good agility. Neilson D - Tries hard but not really up to it at this level. Morrison B - Considering he was playing in the Conference two years ago, has come on in leaps and bounds. Hobbs C - Able player but indifferent form. Brown C/D - Excellent in the tackle but truly woeful against anyone with anything resembling pace. McGivern E - Poor performances since arriving. Berner A/B - One of the best left-backs in the league. Oakley C/D - Not as good as last year. Wellens B- - Improvement needed despite fine start. King B/C - Opposite of Wellens. Dyer B/C - Some excellent performances (Middlesbrough and Sheffield United) but also some real stinkers. N'Guessan C - Has scored some important goals and put in some good shifts, but has at times betrayed his League 2 origins. Gallagher D - Disappointing considering his good showings for Plymouth at this level last term. Kermorgant D - Shown some potential but that's all it has been. Howard E - Season too far. Fryatt B - Shown why Premiership clubs are sniffing round him and scored some cracking goals. League One is his level my arse! Waghorn B - Would love him to sign permanently and wouldn't rule it out.
