Has anyoen been watching La Liga regularly this season?

Don't forget my boy Samuel Eto'o!!

Top scorer in La Liga this season!!

Uhhh and why do you reckon?...he get's them served on a silver plate by the master himself!

I stand by Ronaldinho and co.

Barcelona fans don't think he has been half has good as last season. He pretty much took them from mid-table to 2nd last year. I think Eto'o has been important this season. He might have had a lot of chances 'on a silver plate' but someone has to put them away.

Gotta agree with Toonboy.

Last season Ronaldinho was in spectacular form, this season he hasn't played as well (don't get me wrong, he's been playing fantastically, he was just playing incredibly last season).

Eto'o, though, is THE BEST!!

Even Connolly could've put them away...

Don't get me wrong, Eto'o is a fine striker, but even a half good Ronaldinho outshines every single Barca player...without him, they'd not be champions...simple!

i dont agree with that Shen, they had the best defence by a mile in la liga too, and Eto'o and Ronaldinho couldn't really have anything to do with that could they?

Although they are the class players, the defence of: Puyol, Belleti, Marquez and Gio played immensely this season, the difference between last year and this season.

By a mile?? ... Chelsea conceded least by a mile, Barca conceded 5 less than Real Madrid over a season  not exactly a huge amount. The biggest difference between the two teams being the creative spark and the decisive man to make them win and not draw games: Ronaldinhooooo!

Madrid have an awful defence but an amazing goalkeeper. Barcelona haven't been miles better but have overall been stronger than Madrid. In my opinion the main reason for this is Barca win the matches they are supposed to win, whereas Real might drop a point or two if Casillas has a bad game, for example.

I don't think anyone can argue that ronaldinho is a massive influence for Barca but so is Eto'o, Deco (although i think he is a bit overated), Puyol etc.

Aye, who would want Salgado, Samuel, Helguera and Roberto Carlos in their defence?

Of course Barca have been stronger overall, that's a pretty obvious statement. But notice how many times Ronaldinho has inspired Barca to go on and win...You don't see Eto'o, Deco or Puyol take the game by the scruff of the neck and dictating play as Ronaldinho does.

Much like Real Madrid when Zidane was on top of the world...

Awful was too strong a word, they have big names but they dont seem to spend much time defending.

I agree that Ronaldinho is a great player and the best at barca but as for inspiring them and dictating play that is his job. That is why they bought him. he does it very well, but just the same Eto'o is there to score goals and he does this very well, Puyol is there to defend and he does this very well and Deco's job is to dive and win freekicks and he does this very well.

I'm not saying they haven't been doing their job well. Eto'o has been scoring for ages now, how he ever stayed that long at Mallorca, I don't know. Puyol is one of the best tacklers around and he's excellent at defending counterattacks. But it is someone like Ronaldinho that lifts a whole team and makes everyone perform better than they would normally be able to. He gives the crowd a buzz, he livens everything up. That is something that affects the whole team. That's not his job, that's his gift...

I can't disagree with anything you have said there, i think that sums it up pretty well. Ronaldinho is the best player at the club BUT it is not Ronaldinho and co. it is Barcelona.

Gotta agree that Ronaldinho hasn't been as good as the latter part of last season, still great of course, but, as has been said, last year he pretty much dragged them to 2nd.

Eto'o is a very good player and finisher, you only have to see his goals against Real Madrid (away) and Valencia 2 weeks ago, also at home to Albacete i think it was. He's the top scorer in La Liga, 24 goals in 31 games, top record.

No doubting Ronaldinho's ability and that he's the best player at the club, but this season Xavi, Puyol and Eto'o have been better and more consistent for me.
