As a fan I must say that both have their attractive sides and I do have a hard time deciding, although in the long run I'd rather gain promotion to the Premier League than winning the FA Cup.

Why? Money.

From a manager's perspective, compare the amount of games you can play in a European Cup tournament as England's cup winners to the amount of Premier League home games (19) and then compare the maximum amount of money you can generate through both scenarios.

In the case of Leicester City, a club that's still in some financial difficulties (Milan's tight - and rightly so), but who has good parameters to achieve/maintain success in a higher league (stadium capacity, fans' loyalty, national and international following, history to some extent), you'd getting much more bang for the buck during one campaign in the Premiership than with a European Cup run that could end as soon as it has started (remember Atletico Madrid and Red Star Belgrade). Also, the parachute money in case of an immediate relegation and return to the Championship could also ease some financial troubles.
