AyewJoking Posted 16 July 2010 Posted 16 July 2010 Got slated in The Sun but Heskey was never in the side because of his goal scoring. A target man who was strong and good in the air for our world class players to lump the ball up to. Glad he's retired but if England struggle in the Euro qualifiers it wont be too long before we're all saying bring back Heskey.
FoxyPV Posted 16 July 2010 Posted 16 July 2010 Interesting stat you you Heskey bashers: Emile Heskey - 62 games 7 goals Peter Beardsley - 59 games 9 goals. Not too dissimilar, anyone willing to call Beardsley crap?! Was Beardsley not a winger rather than a centre forward
Salieri Posted 16 July 2010 Posted 16 July 2010 Was Beardsley not a winger rather than a centre forward No. But he was more of an attacking midfielder, similar to Paul Scholes. Great player, loved the guy.
dandannieldanok Posted 17 July 2010 Posted 17 July 2010 I don't see why anyone would want to see Heskey back at Leicester. He did fantastically well for Leicester during his time at the club, why would anyone want to tarnish those memories with him back him here when he's clearly over-the-hill? Emile Heskey now is so far short of those heights in performance that he reached whilst at Leicester, just remember him for the great times and great performances and don't wish him back, because I guarantee you'll be disappointed. Glad he's retired but if England struggle in the Euro qualifiers it wont be too long before we're all saying bring back Heskey. That would have the whole footballing world in tears of pitying laughter.
