ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 I think that Leicester City should have a minute silence/applause for Adam Stansfield and his contribution to English Football. He helped Exeter get back-to-back promotion and saved them from relegation from League 1 last season. You will be missed and it would be nice to see all English fans pay their respects to him! RIP Stanno
Manwell Pablo Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Would be a bit hypocritcal and pointless given at least 75% of our fan base didn't have a clue who he was until today.
martyn Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Will miss the Stelling "Lisa will be pleased" joke on Soccer Saturday.
Fosse Boy Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 I'm sure he did a lot for Exeter and it's a deeply tragic loss but I don't think any kind of special rememberance would be appropriate for a game between Leicester and Middlesbrough.
dandannieldanok Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 RIP, to lose anyone to cancer is extremely sad, particularly at such a young age. ......however only the clubs that Stansfield played for should have a minute's silence (I have personally never found a minute's applause for a death fitting).
andy_croydz Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 I said no but only because he never played for us, I would definitely take part in a minutes silence/applause for him if we did have it though. I think all football fans should appreciate what he contributed to the Football League, I just don't think a minutes silence/applause should happen at all matches in the FL on Saturday, only the clubs he played at.
