Corky Posted 16 August 2010 Posted 16 August 2010 Shame for the lad. Having said that, I thought our players should have been more aware of his position when he was lying prone in their area and we were breaking. I know Wellens was cynically fouled but DJ should have sprinted into the box earlier and given Wellens a quicker ball. Heartless maybe, but within our rights. Rooney did it last year against Hull and nothing was made of it. Absolutely. Boro had every opportunity to kick the ball out and didn't, so we had a right to play on as well when we got the ball back. It was a great block, shame that he's injured now because of it.
caz05 Posted 16 August 2010 Posted 16 August 2010 Are you seriously saying that at the age of 31 professional footballers are passed it? Hope his not Chrissy powell
marbelladave Posted 16 August 2010 Posted 16 August 2010 Are you seriously saying that at the age of 31 professional footballers are passed it? If they are of only average ability then quite possibly... There are many factors but you have to be damn good to play in the Premier League at 31/32. Experience is fine but neither Neilson nor Lamey have performed at that level in the past and there is no reason to believe that they can now or in the near future. As I said earlier, they are at the club to aid our promotion push, they and probably half our squad have no chance of cutting it at the top level.
