Guest Bilo Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Unlucky in the end but made the favourites to win this league look ordinary. Thoughts?
Salieri Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Think the most pleasing thing after the last two games was the clean sheet. Thought Moreno looked pretty tidy and perhaps helped shore things up a bit. Just needed a bit more luck and could and probably should have gained 3 points instead of 1. Plenty of positives to take from the game i reckon.
STUHILL Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Unlucky in the end but made the favourites to win this league look ordinary. Thoughts? One of the best 0-0's we had. Bit of luck and it would have been 3-0 easy win. Very encouraged by that performance. Bring on Burnley. Playing like that, I think we can beat anyone in this league! Very impressed with Moreno. Neilson didn't do himself any harm either. Oakley another good game. Keep it up boys and Sousa!!

Plenty of positives to take from the game i reckon. Definitely more positives than negatives. The old Jack Hobbs seemed to be back, Moreno was solid as a rock and DJ ran their back line ragged all afternoon. Unfortunate with the header but he will come good. The officiating was poor and Howard should have had a free-kick at the very least for a blatant shirt tug on the edge of the area but overall, Boro couldn't have complained if they'd gone home pointless tonight. Plenty of positives and an improvement over last week for sure. Progress appears to be being made.

Thought Neilson did okay too, but i'd be surprised if Lamey doesn't become first choice very soon.
Lillehamring Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 hopefully that's the defensive situation sorted - sounded like hobbs can play alongside moreno, and moreno sounded tunch-like if sousa buys any other players, please please please buy someone who can hit a dead ball. i so want us to buy erik huseklepp it's untrue

Someone who can whip them in or is a freekick demon. Whittingham type of player would be awesome!!
MrSpaM Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Just got back from the game A lot of positives to take out of that, countless chances Oakley had a really good game Campbell had an amazing first half Neilson had his best game in a Leicester shirt IMO And Kings disallowed goal, didnt look offside from where we were sitting at all. Good shout for a penalty in the dying minutes too, shocking refereeing at times. We should have won it, happy with the performance though.
The Doctor Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 absolutely brilliant, we play like that for the rest of this season and we'll humilate alot of teams in this league. Disappointed with the reffing though - some blatent fouls by them going unpunished while every time we made contact with the player he was giving it to them. Also they seemed to try and cheat their way to share of the points - in paticular when neilson caught that lad (thompson i think) while trying to score from a corner, they clear and attack with him still on the floor but when they lose the ball and we have 3 on 3 they flatten wellens then complain that we didn't put the ball out - if they wanted the ball out of play they should have put it out themselves. Great performance today and a good atmosphere as well - the area around me in SK1 was loud for the majority of the game.
anotherwin Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Just got back, really enjoyed it despite it being 0-0, thought all who played had a great game, but some of the morons on RL phone in on the walk back wound me up, 'Dave' from Mountsorrel I think it's "Yermean" was an absolute tosser
FrankieADZ Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 I thought we played really well today, Altho I think we could have maybe done better in taking our chances when we get them. Another thing I cant remember a game when we put in so many good corners. Hobbs looked back to his best and Moreno looked different class;300k for him is a bargain. All in all looks promising from what I say today.

lildave3 Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Played well. Pleased with the defence, clean sheet and looked a hell of a lot more organised. Hobbs looked alot more like the Hobbs we know. Thought Dyer played well again on the right and DJ looked to be our biggest threat. All in all, decent performance and Boro look nothing special.
Ozwin Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 They'll be loving the fact they came out with a draw. I feel a bit robbed tbh. Some great stuff played though, the build up to Andy King's saved shot was quality. Hope to see more of the same in future.
Mee Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Very well played, liking the new style. Thought we were the better team by a country mile. Back four was solid, will do them and Weale a world of good having a clean sheet. All in all good peformance.
Webbo Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 I've seen worse 0-0s. Fair result I thought, don't think we really did enough to deserve the win. Andy King's goal looked offside to me.I thought we put in some good corners too.
davieG Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Good game with no one playing badly, although Moreno was solid on the deck he hardly won a header all afternoon so I don't think he's the answer to CB having said That I see him eventually replacing Oakley as the holding midfielder not that Oakley had bad game. Thought Nelson was good and Lamey in his short début was an improvement in fact his first 3 passes he gave the ball away. King was unlucky not to score and DJ really should have scored with his header. We still need to break much quicker from defence.
lcfcbradyboy Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 back home now after a game we should of won. lamey looked great when he came on and oakely didnt play bad. hobbs , bruno and neilson had a good game i was abit confused with moreno , hes rubbish in the air but good at tackling. campbell played very good and howard played ok just gives to much fouls away ! dyer wernt very good all game and wellens and king well just great !
Leicfox Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Not much to say really. I listened to the 1st half and watched the 2nd. Atleast were now off and running with a point, which on another day could've been 3. Decent effort all-round against the favourites for the title.
dave_the_fox Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 really? is that based on seeing the game or listening. cause it sounded like barely any of the 16 went to a city player or resulted in an on target shot? I think what he means is that they were whipped in and i cant remember one going straight to the first man, so - an improvement, but obviously need to work on scoring from them. Oh and i thought Wheater was an absolute heading machine for them so maybe that has something to do with it as well.

The players should be encouraged to shoot more often, thats where the goals come from. For me, I thought we were trying to work the ball into the goal, rather than having a crack inside the box, and having a go. Oakley was quality, for them idiots on the radio to say he played bad. I'll admit, I'm not a fan of Oakleys, but he played very well. Neilson was class again. As was DJ. I don't think we need another striker. Just encourage them to shoot. We have 3 quality strikers, Dany can play upfront, so can Gally, and if we're desperate Crncic.

teblin Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 I though oakley was very very good today. Very good team performance, great passing and movement which can only get better as the season goes on. Please for the back 4. Howard was great but think we could do with a mobile "target man" as another option. Someone like Jason Roberts.
dandannieldanok Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Even though it was 0-0, I left having been more entertained than on most occasions last season. We played possession football with a purpose and most of players looked really comfortable playing this way, and it's refreshing to see a Leicester side do this. It's a shame we came up against a team like Boro who to me proved that they'll be good enough to be up in the play-off reckoning, their defence was brilliant and the definitely the reason why it ended 0-0. Also good to see Jack Hobbs back up to his normal high standards, defended on his own for the first 30 minutes before eventually getting some help. Thought Matt Oakley was excellent too, and I'll happily debate with anyone that disagrees. I think the 4-3-3 worked to an extent but it just wasn't Howard's day today which clearly reduced the formation's effectiveness. Plenty of positives to take from this, I hope we're brave enough to keep playing this way. It was nice to see a Leicester side construct attacks, with rushing and showing impatience. Oh and the referee was diabolical....some things never change. <_<
