really? is that based on seeing the game or listening. cause it sounded like barely any of the 16 went to a city player or resulted in an on target shot?

seeing the game thanks,

well we can all judge by what we hear on the radio, i mean actually getting them in the danger area, we havent done that a consistent basis in a long while. Oh yeah we did have one on target....Andy King hitting the bar per chance <_<

:P

Howard is a lot more effective coming on as sub.

Neilson was MOTM easily.

The ref was terrible.

Clean sheet is bigger than the 3 points today. Would have been nice to nick it at the end.

I think what he means is that they were whipped in and i cant remember one going straight to the first man, so - an improvement, but obviously need to work on scoring from them.

Oh and i thought Wheater was an absolute heading machine for them so maybe that has something to do with it as well.

U sir are indeed corrrect :D

Happy but disappointed.

Happy that there we some positives to come out of todays game - We didn't concede which was worrying me big time and we played some good stuff but on a whole disappointed we could and should have won.

Poor refereeing decisions again, but they weren't the reason we didn't win, they just hindered us slightly.

Good solid performance

A deserved goal would have been nice but can't have everything

Seeing us play proper football puts a smile on my face

Things look promising

Good game with no one playing badly, although Moreno was solid on the deck he hardly won a header all afternoon so I don't think he's the answer to CB having said That I see him eventually replacing Oakley as the holding midfielder not that Oakley had bad game. Thought Nelson was good and Lamey in his short début was an improvement in fact his first 3 passes he gave the ball away.

King was unlucky not to score and DJ really should have scored with his header.

We still need to break much quicker from defence.

Interesting about Moreno coming into midfield. I personally thought his distribution was poor, difficult to say given it's early days.

Boro are a big side. we were always going to struggle to score from deadballs, that doesn't mean that the delivery hasn't improved from last season.

Everytime Deej got the ball the Boro defenders were shitting their pants. His pace had them backing off all afternoon.

Howard - tidy job in the hold up role.

Pleasing performace.

Your joking right?

Loving the style of football. The players should be encouraged to shoot more often, thats where the goals come from. For me, I thought we were trying to work the ball into the goal, rather than having a crack inside the box, and having a go. Oakley was quality, for them idiots on the radio to say he played bad. I'll admit, I'm not a fan of Oakleys, but he played very well. Neilson was class again. As was DJ.

I don't think we need another striker. Just encourage them to shoot. We have 3 quality strikers, Dany can play upfront, so can Gally, and if we're desperate Crncic.

No! Far too often it took us too long to get the ball forward after we gained possession in our penalty area/half of the field.

Just back from the game(pub!) thought neilson played really well, should of maybe got it wide to him abit more. Hobbs back to normal again, Deej gave them some shit up front and his close ball control was good on the whole. Kings goal was onside from where i was sitting. I think dyer played pretty well too. All in all considering these are the favorites to win the league then i thought we made them look pretty average. definately played better football than them. Looking forward to the rest of the season to be honest, alot better calibre of football than last season...even if the results arent quite there yet. biggest dissapointment of the weekend is that cov are sitting in third fooking place!!!!

Really don't know what to make of that.

We were the better team for the second week running, but we have one point from two games. As much as we were on top we never really carved them open and I genuinely think we'll struggle to replicate the success of last season.

Neilson was excellent.

things to be encouraged about; flashes of creativity, pleasing on the eye, neilson looks a different player, moreno looks a find... needless to say the moans will start if the results don't start to roll in soon, though.

patience is called for; i'm quietly confident.

oh, and kingy was onside.

Pleasing performance.

Everybody played well, and Moreno has definitely tightened the defence up which is good.

Glad to see DJ giving the fans a clap when he went off as well.

All in all, a good performance, which on another day would have been an easy 3 points. All we've got to do now is put the ball in the net!

From what ive been listening to on commentary, we've had about 15 corners each match so far, but not converted one of them! Need to improve on them.

Not alot you can do when Middlesbrough defended them as excellently as they did. All the deliveries were actually decent, they were defended well. And we did actually hit the bar from one corner.

Very pleased with the performance. Some of the passing first half was a joy to watch.

Just need to find the killer ball from the passing play.

Perhaps use the wings more aggressively too.

I'm being over-critical...

Good performance which would have seen off the majority of teams at this level without hesitation.

Both teams will be top 6 end of season imo.

um, no we can't that's why i asked the question.

no need to be so defensive, ok-

it certainly is reassuring to hear that it was not the quality of the delivery that was the problem. sounds like it just wasn't our day. i knew as soon as i heard the goalie was 19 and making his league debut that nothing would go for us. shot's on target in double figures and a borderline offside...

i think it's only a matter of time before it comes together and we knock some poor buggers for 6.

Let's just hope it's on September 11th.......

Or November 29th.

I really enjoyed the game today! we looked nice and comfortable on the ball and looked strong at the back! Hobbs was much better too. I do like Moreno but he seems to enjoy a crazy challenge! seems rather fast as well! I though D.J was outstanding today! very unlucky not to score! finally we have a man who can beat one or two players! Couldn't see King's offside well so can't comment on it! Lamey looked good today when he came on! and Robbie had a good game too! nice cruncher on Thompson! I thought we could have been a little more cutting edge, we seemed to get within a few yards of their box and could not find that killer pass! But overall I was very impressed with the way we played! Nice to see us keep the ball on the deck! Boro did look very ordinary their midfield was very one dimensional and we seemed to crowd one another out in the center of the park! i think we dealt with that much better by finding passes, they tended to launch it up to Boyd who i must say was useless!

Big fan of the fosse boys! joined in today but other decided not too around me!

Agreed. If we don't get a win under our belt soon we could be in real trouble.

Having said that I'm very much enjoying the football we're playing so at the moment I'm not too worried.

personally i thought we did ok in parts but thought we were to narrow and played like the last 2 years by hitting it up to howard. if we play like that we need to put a striker along side him . im not slagging the perfomance off but we need to be more attacking at home why not a 4 1 3 2 formation with the 1 being a defensive midfielder 1 in the middle and 2 wingers to give us more width.
