Football Aid 2011 – Play at The Walkers Stadium!

Leicester City have once again joined forces with Football Aid, allowing football fans the opportunity to play on the hallowed turf at The Walkers Stadium in 2011, and in turn raise vital funds for charity.

Football Aid offers fans the opportunity to Live the Dream of an authentic match day experience; to gain exclusive access to the pitch and tunnel areas, pull on their own personalised shirt in the official changing rooms, walk down the tunnel to the sound of a cheering crowd and ultimately to step out onto their Field of Dreams and represent their club in a never to be forgotten 90 minute match.

The matches have also been supported by a host of Foxes legends down the years, with the likes of Muzzy Izzet, Mike Whitlow, Ali Mauchlen & Paul Ramsey all lending their valuable experience in recent years, by playing alongside or managing the supporters in the hugely enjoyable matches at The Walkers Stadium.

Booking your position couldn’t be easier, just visit www.footballaid.com and choose your club, then you’ll have two ways to secure your Fixed Price position: Option 1: ‘Buy Now’ - Our quickest and most popular option, or Option 2: ‘Sponsored to Play’ - Pay a non-refundable £100 deposit to secure your position and then simply pay off the remaining balance anytime before 14th December.

So if you're keen to secure your place on your Field of Dreams early this season, why not visit www.footballaid.com today to make sure you're ahead of the crowd! Alternatively if you’d like any additional information, you can call Football Aid on 0131 220 5999 or email [email protected].

Football Aid celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2010 and have allowed over 11,000 football fans the chance to Live the Dream in more than 420 matches. They are a groundbreaking organisation which generates funds annually by hosting charity football matches at iconic stadiums all over the UK. The unique concept was the brainchild of businessman and Football Aid Chairman Craig Paterson and funds raised from the event will benefit the work of a charitable project nominated by the club, as well as projects nominated by Football Aid’s parent charity Field of Dreams.

Disapointed in the choice for Leicesters game - where's my brilliant header? Surely thats a contender?

Hi there,

Your header was extremely close to making it into the contenders; it was actually in the longer list, but just missed out in the final selection unfortunately. It was a difficult decision process as always, with much disagreement amongst the voting panel!

I hope the exprience at The Walkers was an enjoyable one.

£350 to play in a match is steep. How the hell are true supporters meant to be able to get involved in this? I'd give my left arm to play but theres no way i could afford £350! Another event that is aimed at the corporate big bods and leave the real fans wanting.

Good cause, maybe. Realisitc for most fans? No.

Hi AeroPars,

Thank you for your comments.

We look to offer this opportunity to all fans of the club, we have 45min positions available for £200 and 90min positions for £350, we also offer the ‘Sponsored to Play’ option to try and make the opportunity more affordable to those fans unable to pay the full money upfront. These prices include a fully personalised club kit to wear on the day, that is yours to keep after the match.

If you require any further information please get back in touch, otherwise i hope that has helped to clear up any confusion over the price of positions.

Thank you again for your feedback.

Kind Regards,

Somthing else for the Corprate lot, Maybe you should try Other Thread Thats more your traget audience, Do we get free a Prawn Sandwich if we sign up??

Christ almighty it is a charitable cause! There wouldn't exactly be much point in hiring out the stadia, doing all the admin etc... then charging only each player a tenner for the privilege would there?!

Of course it's a high price, but it's also a pretty unique opportunity; if I really wanted to do it then I could, and I'm 18 about to start uni (without particularly rich family before you ask). 350 quid's a lot of money but you definitely can't accuse anyone of setting the margin too high.

Charity or not its still a lot for most to afford. The fact your off to uni says it all really. When you have a family to support and lots of bills that need paying thats a LOT of money.

I'm not sure how the sponsorship thing would work. Its like asking people to pay for you to take part. The 45 minute option is possibly worse concidering the value for money aspect.

I'm not critisising the cause, just that its always about the corporate lot who can justify spending that amount of money for something real fans would almost kill for. I just find it extreamly disapointing that everything always goes to the highest bidder. Not those that want it most or deserve it most.

If you look at some of the other events at other grounds available, the £350 option is very reasonable (playing at Anfield's up and around £750 if i remember correctly). I'm don't earn over £20,000 a year but I managed to spare £350 - save £50 a month for 7 months, there's your place.

Ok, you may not be able to do it for this years game, but there's always next year. I guess the question is - ipad/iphone or playing at the Walkers!

I'll stick to the park thanks, would've considered it if it was like £200 for 90 mins. If they did 2 matches at £200 pp you're talking £8,800 towards charity for 3 hours work! So I don't think it's unreasonable that people are complaining...

Realistically though, its not 3 hours work (maybe for you) but this is a fully fledged business so to speak with overheads and staffing to cover. Put it this way - without this, the chances of playing at the Walkers as a result of your own efforts are close to zero, with this the chance is there so long as you are willing to pay for the privalidge and I for one are harterned its reasurringly expensive!
