Massive LCFC flags

I noticed quite a big Leicester City St Georges flag at the England match against America but there's another even bigger one there tonight. Wigston in one corner, Leicester badge in the other and Leicester City across the middle. Wish we had that at home games to pass over our heads. Well done to the people that have took it there. Flying the flag for Leicester.

Yeah, I spotted that - Positioned at both corners of the ground, opposite to each other.

To paraphrase what Motson said at one point: ''There are plenty of England flags around the stadium, with not many representing the Premiership. You've got Barnsley, Oxford, Leicester and Hutnall (?)''

Nice to be associated with those teams. ;)

Post fromthe FoxFanzine Site - From Stevo_

USA in Chicago;

Great stadium in picturesque setting about 15 mins (walk) from city centre on the lakefront.

Four of us with two St Georges (massive LEICESTER CITY + club badge 20footer and the LEICESTER CITY/WIGSTON 10footer) - got them on the pitch-side wall between the goal and corner flag. Saw one other City flag (POLESWORTH) same end, upper deck.

Three sides of ground covered in St George (stewards stopped any placement on far side opposite cameras) - great atmosphere and friendly banter with the natives. Obviously outnumbered but no way out-supported. Aside from the official section of about 3000 English there was a good and numerically healthy scattering all around the ground making plenty of noise.

Great facilities, though beer (not that it bothered me) $6,50 a time, and food dead expensive too.

Colombia in New Jersey

Another great stadium though situated in the middle of nowhere and with no rail links. Seats were right on top of the pitch, at least in the corners (where we were sat) and with a big fook off drop down - ideal for the flags. Got our two right by the corner flag opposite left to the cameras, real prime position (clearly by the number of texts and even a phone call from Mr Bruin telling us so!). The whole stadium was covered with England banners and Leicester were well represented with 5 that I saw, including K the Mods and his New Parks boys who appeared to have 'broken-into' the supposedly 'not being opened today' top tier. A 'Daventry Foxes' St George was also spotted. The 'official' support was massively increased by 'unofficial' travellers, ex-pats, and the fact that the Americans were doing their bit for us too. The Colombians were there in numbers also and kicked off in the corner near the 'official' England end by lobbing bottles after the 3rd goal.

Again the food and drink was expensive and there was a 60minute mile long queue for coaches back to Manhatten.

I was p1ssed off too by the state of the (2nd/3rd string) squad that went over there but the fact is we won both games and may have even learned a few things - like without Robbo in goal we have a problem, like that we have good midfield back-up in Carrick and Jenas (who I didnt rate before - Jenas that is), like we may have found a decent young prospect in Kieron Richardson, that Michael Owen can still score, and of course, that Phil Neville is still crap.

Two great cities, two great stadiums, great weather, the Americans were good hosts - the lads we spoke to at the games were fully 'soccer' knowledgeble though the press seem to think we are 'Beckham United'! (and two 50,000 crowds wasnt bad was it?), top experience as always supporting England, good representation of City support, and two wins - what more could you want for a grand plus spendo?
