Belgian newspaper 'De Nieuwe Gazet' are reporting that Leicester City have scouted Antwerp defender Harald Pinxten.

The report claims that Leicester had a scout present during Antwerp's 2-0 win over Eendracht Aalst.

The 26-year-old is valued at around €250k (£167k).

anyone know anything about him?

yes Petrescu, you do, Elliot? maybe, Stearman? maybe, not convinced Dublin's best use will be there either, Keown won't play all games, Heath and Dabizas may be injured...I like you hope Stearman is as good as all that, but how can we be sure? And elliot's well past his best.

We cant be sure about anything until we give anyone else chance when we need to. If Micky goes ahead and brings this defender in he's yet again frozen argubly our most talented youngster out the team for the season. We cant even be sure this foreign player could adapt to English football. So its a risk either way. I prefer we keep the ones we have already as they aint bad, its the left back and right wing thats the problem.

Heath: Young, has abit of experience.

Dabizas: In his 30's in which we will only get another 2 seasons out of him.

Keown: He will be over next year.

Dublin: See above.

Elliott: See above again!

Stearman: No experience whatsoever and is still very young, needs to improve abit more before stepping into the light!

just found this article

McLeish goes to Antwerp for a look at £1m-rated star

Royal Antwerp's Harald Pinxten has become the latest player linked with a summer transfer to Ibrox, with Rangers boss Alex McLeish understood to have watched the £1million-rated defender in action last weekend.

English First Division side Wolves are also on the trail of the Belgian, after a series of fine displays from the 24-year-old, who has been an ever-present this season for his club.

Royal Antwerp secretary, Paul Bistaux, said: 'It is true that, in our last match against Westerloo, Alex McLeish was over watching the game.

'There are many clubs interested in Pinxten and Wolverhampton Wanderers and Oldham Athletic have recently been over to watch him.

'He is a young player who is doing well and has a lot of potential. In the present- day situation in football, you cannot hold on to a player when a direct offer is made for him.

'If someone comes in for him, you are obliged to let him decide whether to go.'
