wigstonexile Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Don't like to say I told you so but on a thread entitled 'hardest game left', started by shailen - 5th Feb - I said 'S****horpe away' and I think tonight's result rather emphasises the point! It is also a warning to city not to take anything for granted, all the lower teams will be fighting to get our 'scalp'. Also S****horpe's pitch is terrible and remember it is the smallest in the league just meeting minimum requirements. Irrespective of the above city should have the quality to carry them through to the playoffs.
marbelladave Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 There is a mild sense of dread running through this and several other threads at the moment. We have started 2011 in cracking form and are looking good for the playoffs, but being City fans no-one can quite believe it.... We are still 5 points off a playoff spot so we have to keep going, nerve wracking stuff, other teams will cock up, we simply have to stay consistant and take advantage. The games in hand have now pretty much evened out and we have not dropped any places as some thought so the signs are good, faint squeaks coming from my nether regions already....
Socks Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 ^^^ Its 4 points ! Yeah things are turning our way a little Us to win 3-1 on friday with leeds drawing but even better losing ...
samjohnson Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 ^^^ Its 4 points ! Our goal-dif isnt as fantastic as the "mighty" Leeds, so it might aswell be 5 points. But still... I was pretty much praying for the right results over the past few days... The only one that didnt go my way was the Arse-lona game!
luckyalex13 Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 was a great result (i work with one of the 3 scunny fans, unfortunatley for him he is in turkey on his hols and missed there best result of the season ) lets put some goals past the titties on friday and close the goal difference as well as the points on the top six.
Brauniefox Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 I have to be realistic and say I can't see us finishing in the top two, and I also think if it goes down to the wire our goal difference could be our downfall, it is pretty abysmal at the minute so we need some big wins, so instead of sitting on a lead I would like to see them go for goals.

See below. Our goal-dif isnt as fantastic as the "mighty" Leeds, so it might aswell be 5 points. But still... I was pretty much praying for the right results over the past few days... The only one that didnt go my way was the Arse-lona game! No one in the top 6 has a goal difference worse than +10, that will take some catching up. Worrying about individual results may be exciting but the bottom line is an average of 2 points a game from here gives us 78 points, should be enough.

And concede in the process
nickelbyfox Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 7 or 8 point off of second place depending on Forest with 15 games to play! Cant believe it after the start to the season, and Forest v Cardiff and Leeds Norwich this weekend! Thanks a lot Scunny!
smallpauldj Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Bonus, but the pitch at Scunny is going to be a nightmare for any decent ball playing side including ourselves. this is a good point as we have to go there to and there pitch im guessing will be in no better shape and we all know what happened at ipswich. for this game i think a Pearson approach to tactics and how we play would work best.
Fox1651 Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 The main thing is that we win on Friday night. Us not taking advantage of Forest's slip up today would be very wasteful cos Cardiff and Forest will drop points on Saturday. Agreed StanSP - we must take advantage now on Friday!!! Ooh and well done Scunny i hate F****t
