Swampdog Posted 13 May 2011 Posted 13 May 2011 Hi. I was just wondering how many people follow the progress of the youth team as much as the first team? I tend to check on the website to see if there are any updates on their matches and how they are doing every time they play. however, i noticed that updates on their season is almost neglected for most of the season and updates come slowly if never as shown on the LCFC website at the moment.. the last update is from march i think it was.. I like to know whats going on with them as they are the future of the club (hopefully) and we all like to see if there are any promising leicester youths making good strides to become real profesionals.. Maybe im just being funny but i'd like to see more regular updates next season on their progress.. this season as with past seasons the website was updating several games, weeks after they had been played.. many other clubs have a good detail on their youth teams available and more regular updates.. I think LCFC should do the same. Obviously general first team stuff is priority but i cant see it taking long to update a website with match results etc.

I know, i was trying to follow their season and they were top of the league for most of it.. was bitterly dissapointed to find out from another clubs website that they got pipped at the end

Once the kids finish Academy football they've got nowhere to go at Leicester. Such reserves matches as there are are played behind closed doors, so there's no way of seeing how the lads progress in senior football and whether they are realistic prospects for the first team. At the time when we won the Academy title, many in that team were also regulars in the Reserves League team and this only changed when Mandaric oversaw the import of the the Foreign Legion of multiple no-hopers we brought in. For me the set-up became a pointless waste of time thereafter and it's significant to me that not a single youth player has come through at the club since.
ta-fc Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 I spoke to Sven the other day and he said he's no interest in the youth team.... In his opinion Bruma, mcgivern and mancini jnr are the future of our club! P!ss taking aside I do know one of the trainers for the youth team and the general opinion is that there are only one or two with any chance of making the grade.
