The Year Of The Fox Posted 20 May 2011 Posted 20 May 2011 Covant garden or leicester square if your going that way. If your driving in come off at junction 4 m1, head down to the roundabout do a left n head to canons park. Two stops from wembley n if u google buckingham rd,canons park, parking is free. You'll be very disappointed with wembley and the atmosphere, unless you like face paints n mexican waves. Sold my tickets for it.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 20 May 2011 Posted 20 May 2011 edit Drinkin around wembley is non existant unless you go to places like the premier inn, down wembley park tube steps n an immediate right. If u do stop at canons park, get off at queensbury, turn left out the station n theres a few bars there. A lot of englandfans members meet at the green man, walking distance (15min) from the ground tho you normally need tickets for that. Think englandfanstravel.co.uk has the details

I think its an outstanding stadium, ten times better than the old one. Do, however agree with the lack of atmosphere there. Its been average at best everytime I've been.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 20 May 2011 Posted 20 May 2011 Dont get me wrong, to look at the place is incredible. No point going if you want to stand tho. Best atmosphere I witnessed was when we got revenge on croatia in the world cup qualifier. Give me an away game any day for proper atmosphere
danlcfc4ever Posted 23 May 2011 Author Posted 23 May 2011 Yeah I don't expect it to be like a City away day... just want to go to see the new stadium and all that really.. hopfully I wont be too dissapointed! I wasnt sure if theree would be any good boozers or not... probably take a few tins down!

I was there for the FA Trophy final when under 25,000 people turned up and still the pubs over 15 minutes walk away were so rammed you'd never have got a drink in a million years. Drink in the centre of London then get the Metropolitan line up there (much quicker than the Jubilee which stops everywhere)

Also going out in London that night... any tips?
MikeyT Posted 23 May 2011 Posted 23 May 2011 Capello names his squad Monday, 23 May, 2011 Fabio Capello has named his squad to face Switzerland at Wembley. Fabio Capello has named a 26-man squad to face Switzerland in a Euro 2012 qualifier at Wembley. Bobby Zamora and Rio Ferdinand return to the squad for the first time in 2011, while there is also a recall for Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick. Wayne Rooney is suspended for the qualifier with the Swiss, so Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe and Bobby Zamora are the forward options. England squad in full Scott Carson, Joe Hart, David Stockdale; Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Phil Jagielka, Glen Johnson, Joleon Lescott, John Terry, Kyle Walker; Gareth Barry, Michael Carrick, Stewart Downing, Adam Johnson, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere, Ashley Young; Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Bobby Zamora. Ticket prices: £65, £55, £45, £35 (Family enclosure - £20 Adults/£10 Children under 16)
danlcfc4ever Posted 23 May 2011 Author Posted 23 May 2011 Should have more than enough quality there to beat the Swiss? Even without Rooney... Although Im not too happy with the keeper situation.. im sure we will concede at least one goal.
MC Prussian Posted 23 May 2011 Posted 23 May 2011 No matter what England squad will grace the Wembley turf next week, you'll win this by a landslide. The Swiss National team is so shit, you can't believe it. Just lost Frei and Streller to retirement, we've got no other adequate and equally dangerous replacements up front. Hitzfeld plays a defensive-oriented midfield with two 6's and our defense is mediocre at best.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 23 May 2011 Posted 23 May 2011 Whos the player that got your goal in basle? He was good. Tho I was completely hammered
