Wherethefoxhat? Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 So, the second major on the golfing calendar begins at Congressional GC on Thursday. I'm hoping for a Sergio win as always, no matter how unlikely it is. Apparenty the course favours players who like to draw the ball, so I wouldn't be surprised to see McIlroy up there again tbh. Other than that, Westwood seems to be in good form going into it. The US Open is typically the most difficult set-up of the 4 majors, let's hope the course isn't set up unfairly, and let's hope for another thrilling tournament like the Masters! Even more thrilling because this time ......Rory's in control !! For someone so young it's awesome & easily the most outstanding golf since Woods burst on the scene 14 years ago ! But of couse you'd know that ! )
FoxyPV Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 I hope Rory doesn't copy McDough-el's (phonetic) mid atlantic accent.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 Rory was a deserved winner great golf all 4 days attacked the pin at every oppurtunity on a tough course. Jason Day another good performance but only played 2 rounds again and anoter second, i have a feeling if he can get some consistency he will win a major soon.

Any excuse to give his wife more TV time
Leicester Lass Posted 19 June 2011 Author Posted 19 June 2011 I wouldn't be surprised to see McIlroy up there again tbh. Other than that, Westwood seems to be in good form going into it. Wish I'd followed my own advice and actually backed Rory to win it! Also said after the first round I fancied McIlroy to win by 10 or more but didn't put anything on it, will be very annoyed if that comes in!
Donut Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 72 holes of the best golf i think ive ever seen. Id make a longer post, but i am actually speechless.
I am Rod Hull Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 Wish I'd followed my own advice and actually backed Rory to win it! Also said after the first round I fancied McIlroy to win by 10 or more but didn't put anything on it, will be very annoyed if that comes in! OUCH ! Awesome win Rory ...
accessory Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 Americans must be seriously worried. That's 5 majors in a row they haven't won, and in Tiger's absence they were never in serious contention for this one. On this evidence, they're on for a hiding on their home turf at next year's Ryder Cup. However, it was an awesome performance by McIlroy - an incredible response to those of us who doubted him after his collapse at Augusta. The Sports Personality awards must already be sewn up (unless Jonny Wilkinson somehow kicks his way to another Rugby World Cup..)
