Deathside Posted 14 June 2005 Posted 14 June 2005 I have the uneniviable task of setting up a website.. Domain is registered, landing page is written (in notepad - the only way I know ) Now I need to sort out hosting... So, what do you know?, who can you recommend? As I'm not really sure what I looking for I won't give you a requirements list - but feel free to ask me the techy questions - And I will try to answer them - And also prove that although I work in IT, I have always managed to steer clear of web stuff OK then, fire away BTW - Who hosts Foxestalk? A TraceRoute led me to Theplanet.net - but I only found hosting options for business infrastructures on there???
Mark Posted 14 June 2005 Posted 14 June 2005 www.webhostrecommendations.com/ineedoneforthewebsiteivemadeinnotepad We host with Dataflame, desperately looking to move in the near future though to a more reliable server because of a few problems. They are cheap though so maybe a good bet to get your site up and running.

Nationwider Posted 14 June 2005 Posted 14 June 2005 I used to use uk2.net for the whole jabooty (names, hosting, email etc) when I was doing some web-gubbins a while back. They were very reliable, although I've no idea if they are competitive just for hosting. Pleased to hear someone else learned to design web sites the Notepad way.
Deathside Posted 15 June 2005 Author Posted 15 June 2005 Cheers for the advices After some consideration I plumped for Globat.com
