bluesbrothers Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Considering the number of day trippers and families there, also thinking about what it's usually like, i thought the atmosphere was generally alright. The first 20 or so minutes were pretty loud in the Kop for sure as we got plenty of chances to open the scoring, but then the tempo died a bit and yes, it went mute after the Real goal. Mexican wave, Sol Bamba's quality defence and the last minutes after Dyer's goal were also good for atmosphere. The west stand summed the day up, the wave got halfway along then hit the area which is always most populated by the Day Trippers, and died on it's arse. I assume the Family Library was even more of one today given that the only impetus for a bit of singing, namely kids having a go at the away corner, was removed today.
John Matrix Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 I get the intended point. But it has been done to death and is an idiots way to act. If you want to make some sort of hostile atmosphere come up with something better. If not, shut up and watch the guy. Typical English mentality. And if people were booing Ronaldo because of England going out years ago then they are proper sad cases. i was referring to the whooing not the booing
Maybes Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 It was a fecking friendly. Nobody really gives two shites and just want to enjoy the football on display.... It will be a lot different come the first home game.
accessory Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Which worries me slightly, because in the Merc the other day it said that all our home matches were to be shown in Thailand - meaning Jobber wont have his stand for his drum. Which unfortunately is the only way of getting our fans L1 going! I'm sure they'll find a solution People in the Kop don't give a flying one whether Jobber has his drum or not. If we score a few goals and put together a sequence of wins at the KP, the whinging about the "lack of atmosphere" will cease. Simples.
