Stretters91 Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 hey guys , i have to say that our 1st homer match of the season ( well pre-season) was shocking bad in the sense of Atmosphere. It only seemed to be the Kop end of the stadium what was singing! The drummer wasnt there what dissapointed me a little as he gets the qwhole stadium going. I was buzzing or the game before hand , but it was so silent. i couldnt beleive it ! I think in general our home games are pretty silent tbh , compared to other games ! What you guys think ?

At the start the Fosse boy were great but when they scored it went silent for a bit. Who cares it's a friendly match And did you not go abit crazy when Dyer scored?
lavrentis Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Basically. Tuesday night league cup fans > Day trippers.
Stretters91 Posted 31 July 2011 Author Posted 31 July 2011 Ha , next time next year? im a season ticket holder ! i think that leicester is a , whats the word ? not sure , but to me , its a quiet stadium , thatas all.
The Doctor Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Aye it was generally poor. I had a good sing-song though, bloody hoarse this morning though. and I think jobber didn't have his drum because they needed the scaffolding it's usually on for cameras since it was on Thai TV.
lcfcjim Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Aye it was generally poor. I had a good sing-song though, bloody hoarse this morning though. and I think jobber didn't have his drum because they needed the scaffolding it's usually on for cameras since it was on Thai TV. Which worries me slightly, because in the Merc the other day it said that all our home matches were to be shown in Thailand - meaning Jobber wont have his stand for his drum. Which unfortunately is the only way of getting our fans going! Im sure they'll find a solution
STUHILL Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Was really gutted how bad it got!! The whole build up was so good then litreally 3 mins in to the game you could hear a pin drop. The only bit it got going was with the mexican wave and the Dyer goal and last few minutes after that. I was kinda expecting a Man City type atmosphere and it was such a let down and I really don't know why, well not scoring and creating bugger all chances probably didnt help!! Shame though. Wonder if Top thought why do I bother??? hahahaha
ajthefox Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 It was a meaningless match and the stadium was full of day-trippers.
Zingari Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 no-one who supports leicester expects atmosphere in the ground , you're an imposter !
Tommy G Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 No away fans and nothing to play for equals lack of atmosphere
Jodranadinho Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 At the start the Fosse boy were great but when they scored it went silent for a bit. Who cares it's a friendly match And did you not go abit crazy when Dyer scored? The Fosse Boys did not go to the match collectively with some sitting/standing in other areas of the ground. However, at the start-Practically the first minute, the crowd seemed to be buzzing and actually quite vocal. If only more people retained that feeling of wanting to chant and get behind the team for longer periods other than the start or when we score. As others have said, it was only a friendly and hopefully we can improve the atmosphere at our 'new' ground
Zingari Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 No away fans and nothing to play for equals lack of atmosphere how dare you ? nothing to play for ! ? The two clubs played for the npower Challenge Cup, after the UK-based energy provider was unveiled as title sponsor for City's prestigious pre-season fixture. so there !
bobbysmith Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 No away fans and nothing to play for equals lack of atmosphere There were loads of away fans but they were hiding   :
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 wasnt there but it was a friendly, presumably with 10'000 of the crowd little kids who had gone to see that "Winker" Ronaldo so who expects "Atmosphere" at a friendly?
CountesthorpeFox Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 For a friendly game that was a fantastic atmosphere. Its difficult to generate atmosphere when the match doesnt mean anything.
FuriousFox46 Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 No away end It was bloody boiling Plenty of fans from other clubs. Pre season friendly No Jobber. Mystery solved. Where's my Scooby snack?
Dan Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Which worries me slightly, because in the Merc the other day it said that all our home matches were to be shown in Thailand - meaning Jobber wont have his stand for his drum. Which unfortunately is the only way of getting our fans going! Im sure they'll find a solution They showed them all in Thailand last year, we should be fine. He seems to never have it when it's sold out. Hope it hasn't gone like, it'd be a big loss to our support - it's bad that it is that way but unfortunately we're poor without it, IMO.
Neil_LCFC Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Hardly going to be a good atmosphere for a pre season friendly with a pretend trophy at stake is it ? especially with no proper away fans/end . On the whole i thought it wasn't too bad at all for what it was.
Guest Col city fan Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 No away fans and nothing to play for equals lack of atmosphere The atmosphere was shite.. Many 'fans' seemed bored until Cristiano came on
FrankieADZ Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 It was a meaningless match and the stadium was full of day-trippers. I think this is pretty much bang on imo.
Babylon Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 I'm surprised people are surprised the atmosphere was shit.
davieG Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 The atmosphere was exactly what the club hoped and planned for (apart from the booing of Ronaldo). What do you think all the pre-match/half-time 'entertainment' was about? It was there for children and to attract people that really have little interest in going to watch Leicester City Football and to get people into a carnival, friendly state. Besides Friendlies by their very nature, the clue is in their description offer no realistic rivalry as they are against teams we're unlikely to be meeting anytime soon, A high proportion of those in attendance were just as interested in seeing RM and many were only interested in seeing RM. People's expectations bear little reality to the logic of the situation.
carterfox90 Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 it was poor but as many have said it was a friendly !!!!
