Where do you keep getting one good season from?

He's scored about 45 goals in 95 games for them as near as dammit 1 in 2 throughout his whole time there, unless you can play around 95 games in a season I'm not sure why you twist the facts

Goalscorers who score 1 in 2 cost a certain amount and that certain amount is usually a lot, especially when they're good enough to catch they're of a number of teams, unlike someone who has never done the business at this level week-in/week-out

2005/6 - 4 in 15 games - 1 in 3.75 games

2006/7 - 4 in 26 games - 1 in 6.5 games

2007/8 - 3 in 32 games - 1 in 10.67 games

2008/9 - 9 in 43 games - 1 in 4.78 games

2009/10 - 9 in 36 games - 1 in 4 games

2010/11 - 25 in 50 games - 1 in 2 games

Which other season apart from the most recent one is what you would classify as a good season then? I'm seeing 129 games player and 43 scored for Reading, exactly one in three with the most recent season being the season that pulled his stats up. Yes he may have improved over the last few years but he has had one decent season and a few other extremely average seasons for a striker.

Please let me know what the text in bold means. I can't work out what you're trying to say.

You're the one twisting the facts. He's been at Reading since 2005. 200 apps and 54 goals in total. He scored 25 last season in 50 apps, which means he got a measly 29 goals in 150 apps before that. That's 1 goal every 5.2 games. Not great. That's where people get the one good season from.

This was my feeling as well Topharry - glad you could be arsed to do the research.

Still I'm happy to be proven wrong if he comes in and does a job. I just think he's a £2/3 million player - £7 million is a crazy price IMHO.

Exactly my point, he's justified 2-3 based on last season I would say, but 7 is double what we offered for Yakubu who may be older but is proven quality over many years. If we do sign him for 7, i'd love to be proved wrong!
