Political party membership in terminal decline?

I wouldn't commit myself to any party, but choose a party at the time of election that i think i agree with most.

I speak to people that don't really have a clue whats going on in the world, but vote for Lab/Con just purely based on their parents/being working class/being middle class without knowing what they are voting for.

I'm not really interested in politics in the joining a party sense. But with me about to get involved more with Citizens Eye I may have to take more interest. The reason being the City councilors and even Peter Soulsby back them and seem willing to listen and act on what they say. This could of course be due to the fact that CE is community based and controversal issues are being recorded on Iradio, Podcasts and online websites. They also use part of the Leicester Mercury to put together reports. I am not sure what the groups political stance is but I suspect it to be left of centre rather than right. Their main aim is to spread the news about community issues and get proactive results from MP's.
