Haydos Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Right. 12 games gone (bar a couple of teams) and we're 2 points off 2nd position. That doesn't sound so bad does it? But you know we'll be back down to mid table next week and despite our potential position there'll be moaners and no doubt there'll be people on tomorrow getting crazy excited. Anyone who has either of these two extreme feelings after a single game, feel free to go nuts in here. I christen thee.....'The Knee-jerk Thread'. All 'ifs' and 'buts' welcome.
The Doctor Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 We don't take kindly to your type round here, now you can take your grasp on reality and get out. edit: for the record, I completely agree.
tickler28 Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Could go both ways....IMO for it to go the positive way we need wingers if only for away games. Defence solid, keeper world class (almost!!) clearly got people who can score and have quality CENTRAL midefielders....comment....
flowwolf Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Bloody hell Haydos if we all agreed on here what would be the point off the site ? :dunno: :dunno:
Fox92 Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Right. 12 games gone (bar a couple of teams) and we're 2 points off 2nd position. That doesn't sound so bad does it? Good point there, Haydos. We have to put into perspective what has happened at the club.. we brought so many new players, and lost a few as well, so there was always going to be issues with the players getting to know each other. Don't buy that anymore now though just for the record. Anyway, apart from Reading, Bristol City and Birmingham we haven't looked too bad in my opinion. Some of Sven's signigns I did question, and I still think we need a quality right midfielder/winger, but generally most of our new signings have slotted in well. You know, Kasper has been excellent, Mills has shown some of his previous form of being a defensive rock at Reading and Doncaster, Nugent was excellent considering he was free etc so the list can go on. And sometimes I do question Sven's tactics and selection but I think all fans of every club do that. Sometimes I do think he should have Howard on the bench, or he shouldn't have dropped 'xxxxxxx' but thats part of the game isn't it. Basically, all I am tying to say is; yeah, we are two points off of second place which is pretty good for me. In my opinion, we should beat Millwall, which sets us up for an interesting trip at the home of football; West Ham. I am pleased with the start, although we have had a few blips, I don't think we can argue with being two points off of second place.
