The Howard thing is turning into a bit of one like when everyone on here loved Chris Weale even though they thought he was pants a few weeks before.

Steve Howard is an old man in football terms and has been slow for a long time. He seems like a nice bloke and maybe Sven saw him as an occasional game changer from the bench, especially as 90 minutes would be too much for him (in my opinion). Now all of a sudden he is a saviour - one of the brilliant triers that we need to make our club great again. He is not. he tries hard yes but he gives away a lot of free kicks and offsides and moans at refs too much thereby taking the pace out of the game at crucial times. Howard is a bit like Wellens - a solid mid table Championship player - if that is were we want to stay then that is fine but I believe Sven was trying to build a new team - as you can see man for man most positions are stronger than when he joined (obviously some goon is going to argue otherwise) and what we lacked was week in week out passion like we showed against Derby.

It should happen automatically the wages most of these twonks are on but they are footballers and by nature a bit thick so it takes time to get the message across - something that Sven ran out of with the impatient ones on here who need to be top all the time and win every game and the inexperienced owners of the football club (tell me they are not inexperienced after only one year in the job and I'll know you have been planted by King Power on this board)

We are back to square one managerially now and it will almost certainly be 6 months after the new appointment before we can tell if the new manager has anything about them - I don't believe Steve Howard is a way forward for us and he almost certainly won't be for the new man, but he may be a way of not slipping too far down the league (although he wasn't in the season we got relegated under a reasonably good manager, so perhaps will surprise us by being a great player when he has no manager at all!)
